Is that so you can tend to the flock and shoot the invading army at the same time?
j/k
I was able to find this through a quick google search. Hope it helps
If you really want to install the shepherds crook, The hook
goes around and in the slot of the hammer pin and the long
end goes under the trigger pin. The long end should have a
slight downward turn right at the end that puts upwards
pressure into the trigger pin slot. As this is not truly an
original AK design and if you are not a purest, I would
suggest E-Clips as a good reliable alternative. FA guns use
a completely different assembly with a coil spring that
controls the action of the auto sear.

You don't. You go here: http://www.redstararms.com/, scroll down the page, and buy the "retainer plate" that makes your life a million times easier.
The other way is with heavy needlenose pliers and lots of swearing.

Is that the spring against the left inside wall of the reciever?
I remember fighting that thing to get my gun back together after the Aluma-Hyde II finish cured.
Funny thing is, I don't remember how I did it...
So - is that the shephard's crook?

Follow his instructions to the letter, and you'll get it. :) Everything else on that site taught me what I know about AKs other than personally owning one. Hope this helps...
