Which one should I get? I noticed that the FN has one more shot capacity and have two different chokes and rifle sights.

Get the FN Police.
I have the Win Defender 1300 (same gun without the rifle sights chokes), and think the gun is fantastic!
Zero problems after over 5000 shells through it.
You will be amazed at how the FN rotary bolt makes the pump action so FAST.
I have converted a close friend with an 870 wingmaster who picked up a Win (FN) yesterday. He was amazed it the pump and smoothness of the action.
However, I think you can't make a wrong choice choosing between these two shotguns.

A Win/Win sssituation, both good shotguns, though the 870 has a proven track record for durability and longevity.
Get the one thet FEELS best...

I like the 870's AND the 1300/FN police
Dave McCracken is right, buy the one that feels best, you can always buy others later.
The "Winchester 1300 Camp Defender" is the doppleganger of the FN Police shotgun. 7+1, rifle sights, and mine came with an improved cylinder winchoke tube.
I like it as much as my friend's 870, but sometimes it is going to be a Chevy/Ford thing

How is the rifle sight monted on the FN shotgun? Is it possible to remove it and use the front sight with a rear ghost ring sight? What is the going price for a new 870P?

Both will get the job done. There might be more aftermarket goodies for the 870.

Get an 18" 870P with bead sights and a 4 shot tube. You'll have light, short, handy, durable, gadget free shotgun. Have the stock cut to fit you. Get a cheap nylon carry strap.
Check out the shotgun commentary at www.suarezinternational.com.
Less is more.
