Cellular phone makers are not to blame for car wrecks involving drivers talking on their products, the Indiana appeals court ruled Friday, rejecting a woman's negligence claim against Cingular Wireless.

We need this kind of common sense ruling when it comes to suits against gun manufacturers.

If we had a Republican House of Representatives, a Republican Senate, and a Republican president, we'd having rulings like that... uh... wouldn't we? Right?

Standing Wolf, if Ruger, S&W, Remington, et al had sixteen lobbyists each--which I'm sure the telcoms and the cell phone companies have--we'd have that tort reform right now.

I don't imply that lobbyists bribe legislators, but they do deliver the "we're gonna get every employee in our company to vote our way" message across.

That's one big reason why we lost the CCW battle in Wisconsin. We had one very sharp NRA lobbyist up against dozens of lobbyists from hospitals, schools, universities, the restaurant association and other groups.
