Bad - GALS???

Ok so ... we refer obliquely or otherwise to BG's .. we (I) expect the bad guy to be male. A natural assumption I think.

However - and I have not as yet found figures to determine exactly what is what ... this is perhaps pure conjecture. I am assuming that the Bad Gals are few and far between? Tho I see no reason why a heavily motivated female should not turn to armed crime any less than guys.

Reason for thinking on this was a somewhat bada$$ lookin gal in the KFC today ... she looked mean ... really mean. But guess that could just have been ''gal's things'' ... who knows. Did remind me to make sure that my situational awareness concentrates on PEOPLE .. and should not be gender selective!

(Well .. I do always eye an attractive lady - of course! . Ya know!):p

Worked in a juvenile detention centre(a jail) long ago, cooking. I was 24 or so. The girls, all under 16, were much more trouble than any of the guys. They know that most men just won't hit a female. They also know that if they bat their eyes, show some skin and wiggle their butts most men will fall apart. If that doesn't work, they may rip their shirts and scream rape.
Most of 'em are just trying to look tough or this 'goth' stuff and if they get yelled at they cry.
Most of 'em are just female bags of hormones doing exactly the same kind of things we did to make our ma and da crazy. But, you never know for sure. There was one young girl in that jail who could have had me doing all kinds of things I wouldn't ordinarily do. Stunning wee tart so she was.

The BGals are bad. I can't give specifics but, I personally would not want to tangle with women in prison. They are far more violent than men. Locally there are three female juvenile facilities. I would try to stay home if they all three went off at once. The females think about creating as much damage as possible.

Just ask the average corrections officer (with some experience) whether he/she would prefer to work in a male or a female facility. The answer will be pretty universal!

Not too long ago I was asked if I wanted to transfer to be a chaplain at a women's prison further North. My answer was short, sweet and in words usually comprising one syllable!

A "generic" example. There was a BGuy who was a real 5150 (mental). This guy was a druggie, mean drunk and enjoyed hurting people. His BGal had enough of his BS one night and killed him. There were several ilegal firearms in the house. She used a hunting knife. There was not enough to satisfy her in killing him. She cut his head off. That wasn't enough. She defecated on him. To remember the moment, she took video of the whole thing. I hope she stays in prison.

I did my psych clinical rotations in one of the fine State of Texas psychiatric hospitals many years ago. For some reason I was assigned to the Acute Female ward for a period of time. Believe me, women are most assuredly capable of anything.

BTW, I am a firm believer in the mission and purpose of Texas State Mental Hospitals. Especially after meeting some of the folks who 'visit' there.

We should ask our hormone-impaired selves whether we would be as vigilant and willing to draw on/shoot a woman under sufficiently threatening circumstances. Hesitation anyone? :uhoh:

Thanks for the little mental "kick in the pants" guys.

You're right, they're more dangerous, because we just aren't conditioned for that situation. Add to that the concept of chivalry, and boys we'll lose real quick, 'cause we've been taught to play nice.

I'll refrain from posting details, but as a general rule I and the other half of our spieces have irreconcilable differences(my mother, Pax, Tamara, and a very short list of others excluded) on many different levels. In my experiece, the sweeter they are.........
well that coin has a flip side.

I used to date a manic depressant in college. She could be sweet as pie one day and madder and meaner than a she panther the next. She was highly intelligent and downright devious when off her meds. One night I go over and she hugs me and pulls my knife out of my back pocket and then she attacks me. I got cut once before I made it to the door. When I filed a police report the cops told me it wasn't the first time she had done something like this . Now she's in a facility somewhere.

Moral of the story is that I wasn't aware of my surroundings until it was too late, and I didn't have a backup weapon. This all happened before Ohio had CCW. If I had had it that night, the story would read much differently.

So yes some girls can be very, very bad.

From the Uniform Crime Reporting program (http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/ucr95prs.htm) (1995 numbers):
---During the year, law enforcement agencies made an estimated 15.1 million arrests for all criminal infractions excluding traffic violations. The highest arrest counts were for larceny-theft and drug abuse violations, each at 1.5 million. Arrests for driving under the influence and simple assaults followed at 1.4 and 1.3 million arrests, respectively. Relating the number of arrests to the total U.S. population, the rate was 5,807 arrests per 100,000 population.
---The total number of arrests for all offenses except traffic violations increased 1 percent from 1994 to 1995.
---Of all persons arrested in 1995, 44 percent were under the age of 25, 80 percent were male, and 67 percent were white.
---Data based on a total of 22,434 murder offenders showed that 91 percent of the assailants were males, and 85 percent were 18 years of age or older. Fifty-three percent of the offenders were black and 45 percent were white.

From the 2002 UCR numbers (accessible through the FBI website, follow the links above):

Murders: 89.2 percent of arrestees are male
Rape: 98.6 percent male
Robbery: 89.7 percent male
Assault: 79.8 percent male
Burglary: 86.7 percent male
Larceny/theft: 63 percent male
Motor Vehicle Theft: 83.5 percent male
Arson: 84.8 percent male

Violent Crime Summary: 82.6 male
Property Crime Summary: 69.3 male

Overall: 72.9 of criminal offenders in the US are male

The only categories in which female arrestees outnumbered male ones were in arrests for prostitution or underage runaways.

So, when women go bad they might be uglier and more vicious and more dangerous than men -- although they are more likely to be petty thieves or embezzlers than murderers. But men go bad in much higher numbers, and are far more likely to commit violent crimes.

(Oh, and for you Brits: http://www.statistics.gov.uk/CCI/nugget.asp?ID=442 Four out of five offenders in GB are male.)

Pax .. many thx for digging up the figures. It does show about what I might expect. And UK not too different. So we are seeing approx 20% female attributable crime. So, when women go bad they might be uglier and more vicious and more dangerous than men And that I could easily imagine!!

If it came to the dreaded SD confrontation and a woman was the aggressor .. I do seriously wonder if us guys might just pause that fraction longer, to our detriment. It is hard to override basic values, inculcated over many years.

It is worse than that . Not only are you conditioned as a male in treating "the fairer sex", but society its' self is conditoned against you as the male.

While we were children, my sister learned that it was VERY easy to get the attention of just about any male, and then make 'em do whatever she wanted... You see, she'd discovered the thing that us male types all know and dread...

Yup, the swiftly moving boot.

And since she was the youngest, and oh, golly, the most innocent looking, she had most of the guys in the neighborhood terrorized.

She grew up to become a lawyer.

All kinds of badgals here in CO. Yesterday they showed a video of a female bank robber, crimestoppers usually has a gal or two in their lineup of wanteds, a year or so ago a young girl (16-17?) shot & killed a blackman over a 40 dollar crack cocaine debt, about ten years ago I actually had to hit a woman who had showed up drunk in the early morning (I was buying a car from her) demanding money and punched in the screen which came in and the edge hit my youngster over the eye and when I seen the blood, suddenly she was on the ground. Cops were real nice about that, didn't even arrest me cause she brought trouble to my house and injured my son.

Gals can be more dangerous than men sometimes because it may take a sec or two longer to shift gears mentally and perceive the threat and institute proper response. I wouldn't want to go ballistic on a woman unnecessarily and therein lies the danger...it can be a fine line. :uhoh:

This entire thread reminds me of the worst fight I have ever witnessed. It was two girls and one had found out the other had slept with the other's boyfriend. Who incidently, not wisely, was standing next to the two. So there's lots of slapping and hair pulling and I see to that the police are called and hit that little campus police alert thingy. there are quite a few of their "friends" around keeping people from intervening so I just kept my distance figured "it can't get THAT ugly it's two 17 year old girls not very good size either" WRONG so the one girl pulls a knife some little crappy thing mabye 1.5-2 in the other girl reaches into HER pocket and pulls an exacto knife. I was thinking "this is not good aren't any of their friends gunna stop this...silly me. So they're slashing at eachother and the one whose boyfriend it is conects pretty good with the exacto knife knocks the girl over and knocks her out and after bashin her head into the ground for a bit gets up. I was just happy the girl was done with this and went to go call 911 again but for an ambulance wheh the girl curbs her (if you don't know what this is see american history X). It was just about the worst thing i have ever seen in my entire life. Then she turned on the guy and all of their "friends" were chearing the entire time for her to stab him. I couldn't believe the shear madness of it anyway the police showed up and took her away. I found out she got 2 years with probation! So yeah women have it in em.

They don't have to be bad to be dangerous. I worked with a little bit of a woman a few years ago who, among her accomplishments, had won an Emmy award for some children's cartoon. One day her boyfriend?/husband? shoved her head through a glass coffee table upsetting her just a bit. She hit him with a flying drop kick knocking him completely over an easy chair and breaking his back. I believe the hospital stay cooled his enthusiasm for the relationship.

Back when I lived in Kentucky I was a member of the Louisville Musicians Union (AFM 11-637). I played a lot of what is called a Union Trust job. That's where the Union pays you to go somewhere and play. Each Christmas Eve for many years I played either at the men's correctional facility at LaGrange or the women's correctional facility located at Pewee Valley.

Let me tell you the womens prison was a SCARY PLACE! :what:
Much more so than the men's prison.

I have a female friend here who serves warrants in Snohomish County. She says she much prefers to arrest men than women. Her and her partner arrest men all day long just the two of them but she always takes additional officers when they're arresting a woman.
