Purely on a ''cost per round'' basis .. it is ideal for generous ''excercise'' for SKS's and AK's ...... has done me well anyways!:p

Always a bit sad tho that the cases have no further use!:(

My soul was soothed over the weekend by bouncing plastic bottles all over the 100-yard backstop at the range with my
SAR-1 and a few hundred rounds of Wolf FMJ. :)

Wolf works fine in both my SKSes, but with pretty darn poor accuracy. Barnaul and Silver Bear are about as cheap and are far more accurate in my guns. S&B is even better if you can still find any. Of course, YMMV.


AIM surplus has some pretty good deals on rifle ammo. That mil-spec hunting ammo (LOL!) in the green can is Silver Bear BTW.

It's great cheap shootem up ammo.

Most of my AK and SKS shooting consists of dumping ammo down range pretty fast, so accuracy isn't a real concern to me. If I can consistently hit the 100yard gong, I'm happy. Wolff works just fine for me.
