Ever ashamed of a gun you pruchased?
Mine was a WW2 carbine I got at a gunshow and when I went to clean it at home...the barrel unscrewed in my hands! Yep, thats what you call a "parts" gun.

Llama 45. I knew better. Was totally reliable as long as I only loaded 4 rounds in the mag and only with hardball. Still, sold it for what I paid for it, so I guess no harm no foul.

Walther PPK/S Stainless USA made.
Succomded to the "legend" and found out it was a piece of s***!!!!!!
After 2 trips back for repair I was very happy when my dealer would take the piece of junk in trade.
I would take a "jennings" over another USA made Walther.

Mine is not a pistol, but a rifle. I am ashamed to shoot my VZ24 Mauser. The gun shoots ok, and has a good barrel, but it looks like crap.

Jenings .22 :scrutiny:
I still have the damn thing. I have not cleaned it since after the first time to the range. It still works. Must 13 or 14 yrs old now.
When I die I am willing it to my best friend as my last chance to really pi$$ him off.

I had an H&R .22 revolver. Bought it new, and it keyholed from day one. Sold it in a hurry.:o

I bought a .25 Raven (at an Oshman's 24 years ago) new for $60. My reasoning at the time was that a cheapo gun was better than no gun.
It was reliable for the few rounds I put through it, but it was no pleasure to shoot. Lots of muzzle flip due to the tiny grip, and it would probably be more likely to annoy a BG than stop them.

Ashamed is not the word I would use. I have been disgusted with a couple of new guns because they would not function from day one (I no longer have those!), and disappointed with three used guns that turned out to need more work (one of them needs major work) to make them 100% functional.

I had the same M1 Carbine experience.
Paid $375 for what I thought was a bargain, cost me another $400 at Fulton Armory to fix everything that was wrong with it.
It's a great gun now, but ohh the cost.

EAA witness race gun! The comp and scope mount won't stay put, FTF every mag... it was a terrible experience. I almost quit shooting competitively due to frustration. I can honestly say, I paid too much!
This was about 10 years ago, things might have changed now.

Yes, there are two: one purchased a month after the first.
Both are (the now defunct) Davis Industry handguns, made from the finest potmetal.
The first, a .380acp Davis P380, lost it's riflings after 200 rounds of Samson 95gr JHPs. The second, a .32mag D32, began to fall apart the more it was shot. You'll notice in the attached photo the safety is gone. It just up and left, I haven't a clue as to where.
One thing can be said in their defense, they do fire when the trigger is pulled. Doesn't mean it hits where it's aimed, but it will throw lead.
As for my Llama Minimax purchase, I still feel that was one of my better deals I've had, due to my fortune of receiving one that actually works.
P380 and D32: can you spot the black teflon factory finish on the D32 ?
