For those of you who buy Guns & Ammo, there was an article on two Terry Tussey cutom 1911s. They were a Kimber Eclipse Ultra and a CDP Ultra that had recieved a serious cut-down job. In addition to shortening the butt of these already small guns, the most noticible feature was the removal of the standard sights, making way for a groove down the slide that terminated in either a AO Big Dot or a fiber optic dot. Very Cool.
I especially liked the carry job he did on the Eclipse, it looked notably smaller and smoother than did the CDP. If he could just take that Eclipse, make the frame in aluminum istead of steel, and put the Big Dot on instead of the fiber optic sight, I think he would have the perfect major caliber carry pistol for our hot summers.
