I am under 21. Can I sell a pistol through an FFL?

I am considering selling my Witness 10mm. I doubt that I would find a close enough buyer in AR for it, so I may have to do it through an FFL. Can I?

OT:

What would you pay for a Witness 10mm with slight holster wear and brass marks from ejection, 6 mags, a DeSantis Paddle Holster, the stock 14lb and the Wolffe 20lb recoil springs, and to my knowledge has only had about 600rds through it? I have been informed that the jamming w/ non-Blazer and non-PMC ammo might be the mags not keeping up with the 20lb spring.

Thanks,

If this is an out-of-state transaction you have to find a FFL where you live to ship the gun to an FFL where the Buyer resides. If your local FFL will accept the gun you don't have a problem. Ideally one of your parents would transfer the gun to the FFL, but this might or might not be practical in this case. Another option would be for you to sell (on paper) the gun to someone else where you live who is over 21 years of age. That person could then submit the gun to the FFL for shipment to the ultimate buyer.

I would pick an FFL with whom you've done business, and who knows you (hopefully well) and see what they'd be willing too do.

Unless there is a special clause in the law for people 18-21 (which I have not found), this is not true.

A non-licensee (Moparmike) can ship to a licensee ("FFL") in any state. This has been hashed out with references many times here on THR already.

In theory, but you will find there are serious dificulties finding a carrier that will accept the gun from an individual, let alone one that is under the age of 21. If this young man is able to go through a dealer it will eliminate a lot of problems.

Dude, it's legal and done all the time. If your local UPS/FEDEX shipper is broken, call their manager to get them fixed.

Cool, I appreciate the advice. I turn 21 on July 17, so its not too far away.

Any opinions on that Witness? ;) Just trying to get a ballpark figure. I paid $350...
