I still see people paying preban prices (and these people know better). Its a hedge.

How do the prices look? Are they low, like they are trying to get rid of them?
Maybe it's just a lack of buyers. Could be everyone wants to wait and see what happens with AWB renewal.

All I know is that it seems like I picked a bad time to upgrade from preban .223 to postban .308...:banghead:

Yep, I have seen them for as little as $1100. OTOH, I still see Colt pre-bans for $1600 FIRM on a local classifieds website. I have to laugh when I think that in three short months that same gun is going to drop in value by 50%. On September 14th I am going to post a message on that website kindly informing those not in the know that there is no such thing as "pre-ban" and anyone trying sell a pre-ban is either misinformed or trying to rip folks off.

I'll believe the ban is over when it is over, and not a minute before. One way to look at it is as a hedge, as was said above. If the Feinstein bill passes prices will go through the roof. If it fails, well, great for us.

Yea, maybe no federal ban but a state ban is much more likely and will have the same effect!

I don't see much of a rush here in the East to sell them but I did notice the prices coming down. I also don't see the AWB sunsetting either not that it makes any difference to me here in NJ.

I really hope the AWB sunsets in September. That being said, I don't think it'll happen. If anything I think it will be modified to be even more restrictive. I just picked up a NIB "post-ban" Bushmaster M4orgery this morning. I hope I'm wrong, but I've got a feeling in the not to distant future it will become a"pre-ban"
