Well, I already have my dream revolver, and even a sidekick making a nice pair of .38 specials:
Blued 4" S&W model 15-2 (from 1963), and the understudy: blued 4" S&W model 10-5 from 1970.
I couldn't ask for more . . . well, then there's my stainless 4" Ruger GP100 in .357 magnum which makes a perfect piece to test loads with.
I'm happy standing pat here.

I couldn't find anyone who made what I wanted, so I had to have my gunsmith make it.
It started life as a S&W M57, .41 Magnum, pinned and recessed, with a 6" barrel.
The barrel was replaced with a factory-new 4", which was quad-magnaported prior to install. The gun was converted from square butt to round butt, and fitted with Hogue Pau Ferro grips. The gun was refinished in matte blue. The hammer was bobbed, the front sight fitted with a red insert, and the gun received an action job.

A M-12 w/3" barrel with, or w/o an underlug.
A 3" barreled M63 in .22LR.
A 5-shot .45Colt Ruger Super Blackhawk w/Power pawl kit

My dream revolver has been out of production for 80 years...
S&W Triple Lock in .44 Special.
No finer revolver ever made, as far as I'm concerned.

I'd like a GP-100 in 9mm with a 3 inch barrel and adjustable sights. While I'm dreamin, how abou making it with a shortened cylinder that is just long enough for the 9mm round.
Wait a minute, how about a top break revolver in 9mm. Yeah that's the ticket. 3.5 inch barrel. Now we're cookin. Stainless steel of course.

This time it was a 5 shot .38 Spec. with a 3 inch medium weight barrel. In stainless with low profile adjustable sights. No ports no frills. Just built to last forever.
Hey wait a minute, Taurus built those a few years ago and quit. Heck maybe I'll just get a tracker and live with the ports.

1. Colt Fitzpatrick Special cut down from a New Service .45.
Ugly as sin short range only belly gun. Just for neat factor.
2. Colt 1878 DA in 44 magnum , 5 inch barrel, stainless, buffalo horn grips, fire blue screws.
3. Colt Lightning in .357, 4 inch model, in glossy stainless, ivory grips, fancy engraving. (Barbeque Gun)
4. Colt New Service 44 magnum.
Yeah.. fantasy guns but so what?
Here's one I found and couldn't afford:
1930's commercial Colt New Service 357, in the white and factory engraved. I was drooling over that revolver, and the guy only wanted $1200 for it.:(

Local pawn shop had a New Service in .357 Mag.
Guy behind the counter was raving on and on how rare they were (excuse me, but they're not THAT rare), it looked like it had been dragged behind a truck for quite a ways, it was loose as a goose, etc.
They told me it was a steal at $900.
I laughed in the guy's face...

I would like a medium-frame 10mm. Either on a k-frame Smith, or preferably an early-model Security Six, made out of stainless. 5 or 6 shot, either way. Adjustable sights. Ability to use .40's as a sub-load. 4" and/or 6" barrels. A snubby'd be a neat thing too, but bullet pull gets to be a problem.
Closest I can get right now is a .41 Tracker, which works, but lacks a sub-load and moon clips.
My idea of a sweet field gun. I wonder if the k-frame could survive such a conversion? Maybe an L-frame would work better.
If I get rich, I may yet build one of these out of a Police Service Six I've got to spare. I particularly enjoy the looks and proportions of the early Rugers, especially in fixed-sight configuration.
Other silly ideas include a .30 Carbine SP-101 with a six inch barrel, and a medium-frame .25 Hornet or .25-20.

Didn't Ruger make a swing-out breechblock single shot that looked like a revolver in .256 "Hawkeye" or some such oddball caliber?
Kinda like the Raging Hornet.
I have seen a ton of .32-20's but never a .25-20. That could be bult on a very small frame.

If Freedom Arms would make a 6 shot revolver in .45LC/.454 Casull, that would probably be my dream revolver.

Yes, I do know about S&W 610's. They're nice, but they're N-frames. A medium-frame gun is the dream. Wishing, just like a liberal. ;)
Dr. Rob, the Ruger Hawkeye is a single-shot with the chamber in the end of the barrel, with the "cylinder" performing the role of breechblock. .256 Magnum is a .357 case necked down. I read about some folks hunting deer with 'em, using 60 grain bullets! :what:
Close, but no cigar. Hawkeyes are SA, built on the big Blackhawk frame, and cost an arm and a leg, as they failed to sell in 1963. Ammo DOES NOT exist, and is by all accounts hard to make. It'd be a hot one, though. 60's run at 2000+ fps.
I was stuck on the .25 Hornet concept until I read that the .25-20 case is a bit bigger, and therefore worth another 100 fps in identical circumstances, and it's NOT a wildcat. Plus it's a bit shorter in OAL so it doesn't require a special long cylinder. This is why Taurus can make a .218 Bee Sillhouette gun on their medium frame, but the .22 Hornet is restricted to the Raging Bull frame. The Bee is a necked-down .25-20, which is a necked-down .32-20. I have a medium-frame S&W M&P in .32-20 and it's a blast to shoot.
I wonder about heavy-for-caliber bullets like 120's loafing along at 8-900 fps. They'd never slow down. .25-20's have a looong neck. Hmmm...
It might have shoulder-case problems, but apparently the Bee-caliber Tauruses work. I want one, but they're not available in my stupid state. :fire:

Hello, my dream gun is a reality!
It's the S&W 625-8 with a custom shortened 5in. underlugged barrel with all the bells and whistles.
250gn XTPs @ 1350fps make one ragged hole at 50yds off bags.
That's about 1.5 MOA for those interested!

A SW 342 type gun in 9mm with a 547 extractor system.
A SW model 66 type in 9mm with the 547 extractor.
I would like wheel guns to match my semis and not fool around with moon clips.
A SW 317 hammerless and a much lighter trigger.

5" ruger black hawk with a SAA lower frame, keith sights, blu magnum grips, belt mountain cylinder pin, power custom pawl kit, one cylinder in 356 GNR and another from the guys who make the medusa revolver. 5' bbl's balance best for me, the SAA frame fits my hand best out of all revolvers, with the two cylinders you could take care of all but the largest game animals in the world and most impotantly it would look realy cool! It would be nice to have a blackhawk hunter type bbl but I don't thik it could be done.
