Gentlemen;

As I mentioned in the title, I have an odd request. I am looking for pictures of alloy-framed sub-compact 1911s WITH THEIR GRIPS REMOVED. I am talking about the Colt Defender, Kimber Ultra Carry and the Springfield Micro Compact. I need to know how much "meat" there is under the grips, specifically, how much from the mag well to the ovate hole in the grip frame. Any assistance you could provide would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!

Some of you might see where this is going....think alloy-framed Detonics-sized.

Nothing odd. We've all had these desires at times...

the only frame i can think of that's really suitable for chopping is the caspian. it just has a hole.

AR sales also made one with just a hole.

Thanks Mercedes! You wouldn't happen to have a Colt and a Springfield, would you?

Andrew: That was my initial thought, but evidently Caspian no longer makes alloy frames OR the chopped frames they used to offer.
