Is there any way you can possibly nail these jokers with the anti-spam law that was recently passed? What they did to Jim March sickens me. :barf:

Well, I don't think this will be like the other one. This time they actually specified the channel and the show. I've seen True Life, it's actually a very good show.

I tend to agree with SoCalGeek. If it actually is for the True Life show, then it would be a great opportunity. True Life focuses on the subject matter and people associated with it only; their own personal stories, beliefs, observations, etc. about the subject. No real commentary from the MTV people, and they don't seem to "spin" the story.

Thank you very much. I can assure you that this film
is being very cafeful not to take any political
stance. It is genuinely just interested in the
different types of Americans who own guns.

I was at the Second Amendment Sisters Rally in Washington D.C. and I was talking to Sarah Roush (Miss Teen New Mexico) when some free lance vidiographers came by and did an interview with her for the porpose of getting it on MTV Miss Roush is also a junior rifle shooter with a few NRA titles under her belt.

I have missed whatever happened previously but does anyone know when this will air? Apparently there was an episode on Comedy Central that I also missed. I have to say Reno911 and The Daily Show are hillarious and anyone invited to appear for an interview on said daily show should know that it's strickly for laughs. I am amazed at the people they get who don't yet know it's all a gag, albeit at their expense. I could barely speak for laughing if it were me.

Targetshtr,
You need to read the thread from Jim March. He was not invited to be on the Daily Show. He was told he was going to be on a "serious debate show" on MTV Networks. Key words there....SERIOUS DEBATE SHOW.....not some deranged circus.
I love comedy central as well, but I have refused to watch it since this thing happened.
The disrespect and dishonesty that they have shown forces me to watch other channels, or better yet, turn off the TV.

If any show on MTV networks is remotely unbiased, it is True Life. It isn't a bad show and in my estimation, it could be a great opportunity for RKBA. The Miss Teen New Mexico sounds like an excellent idea. Whether we like it or not, we have to be represented by someone who is beautiful to be effective on a station that thrives on superficial content.

Yea, I missed it. I never heard of 'Crossball'. Must be a take-off on Crossfire I guess. It sounds kind of like the one on HBO last year called Ali Baba or some such. I feel for anyone on those shows. Some have clearly been set-up like this case. While I don't mind being kidded I would probably react badly in a situation like that. Sometimes you just don't have any choice but to take hostages. hehe
Then there's the one on MTV called Boiling Point where they see how long people can go before blowing a gasket. If it were me I'd surely wind up behind bars.

Since the Jim March incident, I have removed both the Comedy Channel and MTV from my programmable remote.
There are too many other things I can use to occupy my time than watching a hack job disguised as a debate.

It hasn't aired yet. There's wrangling on this going on between Peter Mancus (my lawyer) and their lawyers.
Short form: their contract with me ("release") ain't worth beans as it was obtained fraudulently.
IF they air this turkey without my permission, it's gonna be lawsuit time. And as a PROFESSIONAL activist in this very field, damages are gonna be wild.
But I'd much rather they just not show it. It was uuuuugly.

There is a possibility that this might be a good thing. If the right ladies stepped up to the plate (smart, pro gun, and attractive) this might be a boon to the perceptions of shooting in general... as well as the ugly realities (enlightened people waking up and defending themselves against what most others don't like to think about: assault, robberies, rape, murder...)
You can't deny that guns are the great equalizer and that women old OR young often need some help, particularly when they're of that 18-25 age group - young, away from home...
I know that Paxton Quigley is probably out of the age bracket but this might be a good thing to forward to her... She could probably network some good options for MTV to interview, including herself as a respected authority figure.
I read all of the stuff Comedy Central did to Jim March - it is unconscionable. But I'm hoping MTV sheeple could get past the "Oh Dear, She's Got A Gun" aspect and get to the meat of the debate: Cops can't defend you, you have to take care of that yourself.
MTV is guilty of glorifying the gun culture while simultaneously vilifying it; this could be their big chance to present the TRUTH.
I'm probably overly optimistic on this one but there's always hope.

he didn't say they had to be "attractive" , just between the age of 18 - 25.........

FWIW , MTV's True Life documentaries of the past few years have been very well done : far more objective than the major networks IMO . I would in all honesty trust MTV more on this issue than ABC,NBC or even FOX .

I guess they didnt get invited to attend bulletfest this year like they asked. These guys really seem to be all over the shooting community right now don't they?
Soap
June 13, 2004, 11:05 AM
Of course they don't have to be attractive. But consider the network and consider the audience. Its not like we're talking Hannity and Colmes here. The simple truth is that MTV is based on superficial entertainment. I turn on MTV for eye candy like the stuff I see in Cribs or on Beyonce's new video. I would surmise that the more attractive the female is, the better chance she will have in being effective to MTV's audience. Like I said, like it or not, the more attractive and well spoken the girl is, the better she will do on MTV.

I have seen most of the MTV Truelife episodes. I must say that they are by far one of the most unbiased shows I have seen. So far they have handled topics like Breast Inplants and Stomach Stapling, but they are finally moving onto a subject with a little more substance. If they handle an episode about firearms as fairly as the the other subjects then I think it will be good for gunowners. They only other TV show I would trust more then Truelife would be one affiliated with Jon Stossel of CBS.

They are a little TOO interested in the community IMO.
Given that this is an election year with the AWB extension on the Senate calendar this sudden interest by a leftist media outlet stinks.
I'm almost certain they'll try and wedge some nazi/kkk B.S. into their story along with some cut-outs to Columbine and spin the whole thing up into an anti-gun expose complete with Feinstein's deceptions. That and they'll go out of their way to find some no-teeth idiot to wave his SAR-1 Abdallah-style for the camera.
