Anyone have any infor on TRI STAR shotguns?
They are made in Italy, and a salesman told me today that they used to be American Arms before a name change.

I was eyeing a light, used side by side.

Certain models used to be market under the name of American Arms. TriStar markets more than one maker.

If your looking for just a good all around hunter they are worth the money. I have a Tristar Hunter and have enjoyed it tremendously. Works well on Skeet, Sporting Clays and I have used it on dove and upland birds with no failures or complaints on performance.

The recievers are detailed nicely. furniture is fit fairly well. The dye or color they put on the stocks are horrible. They all come out poo brown color.
But do not worry. Strip away the factory finish and do it yourself. I was pleasently surprised at the wood the factory had pretty much painted over. It finished out very very nice with a distinct grain and rich blondish brown color.

Chokes are TriStar. So you just can't go to WalMart and repllace one if it gets lost. You can order from Tristar, but there are several choke makers who now offer them as well.

The TriStar Viper Series Semi Automatic Gas Operated Shotguns are reliable, functional and hard working. Both wood and synthetic models have 3" chambers to take 2 3/4" or 3" shells. Chambers are chrome lined. Barrels are threaded for the BerettaŽ/BenelliŽ style choke tubes and every gun comes with 3 tubes (IC, M, F) standard.
