Any reasons NOT to buy a Jericho/Baby Eagle?

Hey, All,

Got a buddy with a little cash to spend (lucky bugger already has his tax refund, and actually GOT enough to buy a pistol with!!), and he's been listening to me blather on about how much *I* like the Jericho. So, he's leaning towards picking one up...they have a few out on Gunbroker for between $300-$500, depending on calibre and goodies.

Just to be fair, though, since I would hate for him to go out and pick up a pistol SOLELY based on my tastes, I was wondering if anyone here had any solid reasons why they wouldn't buy one? Not stuff like "I won't buy anything that's not American," or "It offends my eyes."

I mean stuff like "That polygonal rifling tends to make the bullets tumble, past ten feet," or "They're made awful sloppy," or even, "I got one, and it turned me into a NEWT!!" :P

So, anyone? Anyone ever heard of a Jericho KB'ing?

Kal

Well, they're strongly built, reliable, and pleasant to shoot. On the downside, they're pretty heavy because of their all-steel construction, the slide-mounted ambi safety makes the gun wider than necessary, and the SureSnag(tm) rear sights are about as tall as a shark's dorsal fin. Also, the styling is a "love it or hate it" kind of affair.

Kieth's gunshop in Gresham Oregon has the entire Baby Eagle line NIB for $299............$279 at gunshows

A cousin of mine got one about 4 months ago & it has become his favorite 9mm pistol. I agree it's probably the weight of its steel frame & slide that help in absorbing recoil. I also agree that the weight might be a HUGE negative for CCW.

Customer service is very dicey. If you get a Jericho or Baby Eagle stamped MRI you can get support from Magnum Research International. If you get one Stamped Uzi Eagle you're on your own as far as I know.
