Hello all. I recently picked up a Rossi M88 (stainless) used for $75.00. It seems to be in great shape, as it passes the Jim March revolver checkout. As I bought it used, there was no manual (and from what I can tell, Rossi no longer makes this model). Does anyone know if it is safe to shoot +p ammunition through this model of revolver? Any and all information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I can't answer your question (and I don't want to give my opinion), but congrats on your purchase! If you're looking for a self defense load then try to find the discontinued non +P Federal Nyclad 125 gr. lead hollowpoint.

If you find out that your gun is not rated for +P and if you don't want to use them for that reason, or if you can't find the above Nyclad-- You might want to talk to "weshoot2" about reloading what he thinks would be a good standard pressure load for you. He has a good philosophy about self defense ammunition.

I've had one for many years and I've put thousands of rounds thru it. I just spent 15 minutes looking for my old manual, found the box but no manual. But I'm almost positive that the manual stated the pistol wasn't rated for +P ammo. At least I remember looking long and hard for non+P carry ammo. Right now, mine is in the armrest of my chair loaded with Nyclads, great snubby ammo if you can find some.
