Can you identify this pistol?

Bonus points if you can tell me where I took the pictures. :D

Note that the frame rails are outside the slide, like a CZ 75.

Note no safety nor conventional hammer.

I apologize for the poor picture quality; the lighting was very bad.

That LOOKS like John Browning's original prototype for the Hi-Power/GP-35; Herstal, Belgium?

Too easy, apparently!

According to the label, it was the original Hi-Power design from JMB. I saw this at the John Browning museum in Ogden UT. The attendent said that there was at least one production run made of these.

The differences from this model "HP" to the BHP we know and love are striking!

second prototype of the Browning Hi-Power.

I would expect that pistol to be in Belgium, but don't really know.

edited to add: I was close, you posted the answer as I was typing. Thanks for the quiz.

The differences from this model "HP" to the BHP we know and love are striking! That's because the one you pictured is 100% John Moses Browning.
The BHP we know and love was finalized long after his death.
