Has anyone here shot any of the new Benelli shotguns (either the Super Black Eagle 2, the M2 Field, or the Supersport) equipped with this new stock? If you have, I'd like to know what you think about it.

The '04 brochure claims that it quote, "reduces felt recoil by as much as 48 percent over the competition". Is this just a marketing stunt (and I say that in the kindest of ways, ;) ) to sell more shotguns, or does this new "system" really do what it says it does?

Coming from Benelli I'm sure that it does what it claims. Two high tech ways to help reduce recoil are ; high tech foams and gels. Both can do amazing things to reduce recoil. Actually the gel idea has been around for some time , I remember Browning had a gel pad for your jacket years ago. The foams too work well. You can see some of this in ads for mattresses

I got the most recent Benelli catalog in the mail the other day, and wondered the same thing. However, good at recoil reducing or not, the comfortech system is ugly! :p

Schuey, sorry about the lack of replies. I think THR is primarily a chapter in the 870 organization, and Benellis don't typically get a lot of coverage around here. You could try a duck hunting forum; they usually have a plethora of Benelli addicts.

I have not shot one of the new comfort-tech guns yet, however one of the guys in my club has a Benelli Montefeltro and that is one of the softest shooting semiautos I have ever used. I assume the new system will be better. I agree though that it is one ugly looking thing then again have you seen that new Browning Cynergy? Thats uglier yet.:eek:
