Seriously considering a .308 7600 as a long range tool. The 16.5 inch LE model looks like a good possible choice too. Whats the accuracy potential of the 7600? Not at all familier with this model. What's the ruggedness of the 7600? thanks.

I had a 760 passed to me by my grandfather in .30-06. That barrel is free floated, mine was a very accurate gun, 1 MOA or less with good ammo and quick to reload. It was lightweight though, and the recoil was rough on me way back then. I regret selling it now.

Ditto what brass shower said. I recommend a shotgun-type recoil pad for the 760/7600 in '06.
