Mauser front sight guard

Hey all;

I just got a K98, and it has a bare front sight post. I thought that the K98 mausers had a circular front sight guard. The front sight on mine has slots on either side of the front sight post, like something could be fitted there (not the bayonet connections), but I cant find any online.

Anyone seen them or am I just imagining things?

I usually get my replacements on Ebay, but they run about 7 bucks. Pretty pricey for a little peice of sheet metal.

Looks like SARCO has them for $5.95.
