My new Limited blaster finally arrived, after about 6 months. I've very pleased. This is specifically for shooting Limited class in USPSA/IPSC and 3Gun.

Specs- SV long/wide dustcover, 40SW (long throated), capacity is 18+1
with the mags I have. (

DAMN!!! That is one sweet looking pistol. Man, SV guns are works of art!!

I intended to get a solid steel front sight, not the more fragile fiber-optic one. With that change, and maybe removing the mag-well, this would be a fine night-stand gun... for everyone who says IPSC pistols are useless for self defense.

Why would anybody say competition guns are useless for self defense? They wouldn't be good for concealment, but to me they represent the ideal of a combat weapon that just isn't feasible for everybody to have. Plus they are usually in powerful calibers and can be real bullet hoses as far as I know.

That sentiment crops up from time to time, often in threads that games are games and defense is defense, and the two share nothing. As neither military nor police, one of the best opportunities I have to test the reliability of my weapons (not to mention my own skills) is action-type competition.

If you are limited to a handgun or it's your primary for whatever reason, it's hard to argue with 20 rounds of 10mm from a reliable, accurate, and controllable platform.

My hard chromed STI Edge is my nightstand gun......Dawson ICE magwell and all the whistles. 20+1 with another mag of 19 nearby just makes me feel better.

I really like my Kimber Aluminum Compact for carry, but 8+1 feels kind of inadequate on the nightstand.

i love the red trigger.

The trigger is the SV ITS "Interchangable Trigger System", which allows different trigger shoes to be tried to get the preffered shape and length of pull, without having to pull the bow out and redo the internals. I've had the same trigger in my Dan Wesson Patriot (single stack 1911) for many months now and it works great. It's red anodized aluminum, I believe.

Plus, it also gives valuable information to idiots.

That's quite the work of art, Zak

What sort of grips are on it? They look strange when I enlarged the pic.

Very nice piece too!

They're standard stippled SV grips, I believe.

Note that the entire lower portion of the frame is a removable/replacable module made of some type of plastic material.

What kind of mags does it use?

SV and STI mags both work.

SVI makes a hell of a blaster.

Limited and Limited-10 guns for USPSA can be very practical weapons. Limited class doesn't allow optics or compensators or other really freakish outside mods, the guns have to be reliable to win matches, and the guns have to be at least .40 caliber and 165 power factor.

That is a thing of beauty.

SVI makes awesome guns, and I love their frame. Gorgeous blaster you have there.

WAHHHHHH......I had two SVIs in .38 super and sold them both when I got a major guilt complex.........I would especially LOVE to have my commander sized one (commander slide, fullsize grip) back.....of all the guns I've sold, I miss my Infinities the most. :banghead:

Congratulations on your GREAT looking gun.......

WARNING: Thread resurrection!

After many rounds and many matches, I sent this off to Tripp to get hard chromed before he shut down his HC opreation (again). (

When new, this pistol had an issue with intermittent and rare light primer strikes. I resolved the problem by replacing the firing pin with an extended FP. After that, it runs pretty much 100%.
