Wrapping guns for storage

I have rather small safe where I keep handguns. It still has the room for four handguns I have, but it's getting tight. I am thinking about wrapping the guns in some sort of cloth or something, so I don't screw up the finish when I get them in and out - they can easily scratch each other.
Do I wrap them in cotton cloth or there are some special sleeves or envelopes for that purpose?

Gunrags would work if space permits.
They're reasonably cheap, too.

Cloth isn't good. Cloth absorbers moisture from the air and causes rust spots.
Your best bet is to buy gun storage envelopes from Brownell's.
These are special "hard" plastic bags that won't pass moisture.
Also buy some "Gunwrap Paper".
This is a special paper that gives off a vapor that totally prevents rust from forming for 10-15 YEARS.
This is how the military now store weapons.
The bags come in handgun and rifle sizes.
Handgun comes in 3 or 12 packs.
3 pack--#083-000-001 $13.00
The Gunwrap "Vapor-Paper" comes in 12" sheets, or 4" strips.
Sheets #084-031-010 $6.30.
Wrap a gun in some of this paper, drop it into one of these bags and seal it, and it'll stay rust-free and unscratched for many years.

dfariswheel,
Agree!
I have used RIG forever on guns. I will take a cigar box and place a handgun inside after being wiped with a very light film of RIG. NO cloth , no dessicant , Just the gun and stack these in a safe. I've never had a problem.
Growing up poor and not knowing about the gun paper or gun envelopes one learns other uses for the free cigar boxes. :) I "might" have a holster, gun rags were expensive. I have used two cigar boxes to make one bigger, time glue and straight pins keeps a kid busy on a rainy day. I did what I had to do at the time. Funny thing is - I still use this method. :)
Transported many a handgun to and from the range in heat and humidy this way, toss in a grocery sack, duffle bag , backpack...
Roi Tan, Swisher Sweets, Edwards... had fun at the range...:)

Gun-Sock. It's basically a silicone treated heavy duty tube sock, with a draw string. I've installed pegs in my safe and hang my handguns from the drawsting. Allows me to fit many more handguns in my safe, and keep the finish from getting an dings.
IIRC, I bought a couple of 10 packs from www.midwayusa.com quite inexpensively.
Good Luck...
Joe
