Sounds like a great carry gun. Rubber grips and loaded down .44 mag should make a good woods bumming gun for the lower 48.

Perfect match for my S&W 386 (18.5oz .357Mag), which the wife has pretty much "adopted".
Now we can have "His & Hers" scandiums, and just in time for Valentine's Day!
Wish this 329 had a 7-shot cylinder too, though.

I have a 360 kit gun. 14 oz. The 329 is the 360 on steroids. If I got one, I would load it down like I load down the 360. I like having a strength reserve, but I don't want to use it. I can't believe the 360 or 329 would have the endurance of the steel guns. They seem pretty specialized to me. Carried much, shot little.

Smith 329, carried alot, shot once and my hand still hurts.
How's that for a motto. :D

Handsome looking gun, but expensive, I bet. Given S&W's interest in scandium alloy frames, it had to happen someday. Anyhow, sounds like my 296 and 396 are longer the last word in big-bore lightweights.

I hope they get their quality control up as it is a neat concept and I would buy one if it was better than the trash brand new mt. gun I just owned briefly.

I'd buy one if Smith and Wesson would publically withdraw from the "deal" instead of just "ignoring it while there is a friendly administration in office" and get rid of the dumbass lock.
I guess I'll just have to use a 5.5" Redhawk and put up with a little extra weight, but have a gun that can shoot full snort loads.

You just know that someone is gonna stuff a 300gr grizzly mangler in that thing and snap their friggin' wrist like a stale Mister Salty...

Greeting's All,
While the new S&W 329PD .44 magnum looks great, I
won't be departing with my 5" S&W 629-5 "Classic"
.44 magnum. However, I might save up some funds
and purchase a copy of the new product!
Best Wishes,
