Include the Christmas special issue E2e Elite which is still $75 and the the NRA Member Nitrolon G2 which is still $75. The green weenie in the equasion is that the other variaitons of theses model shave jumped up about ten dollars in price. - Still a bargain given the recent down-turn in battery prices.

As a much cheaper alternative, has anyone else tried the Brinkmann LX? It comes in the package w/ 2 123 batts, and according to some guys on the Candlepower forum, has just as good a beam. They're 20 scoots at WalMart.

the christmas special E2e is in satin grey and will not hold up nearly as well as the hard anodize type 3 finish which can be had for the same price or less if you look around.
the NRA special is a G2Z, not G2.;);)
the drop in surefire 123 cells is excellent. i don't hesitate to use my lithium lights anymore.:)

Hi, Hutch...I've seen these at WM and have been wondering about them myself...might be worth a shot for $20.
By the way, I'm a fellow Birminghamian! :)

It's my first "ultra" bright light. I'm getting one of the G2's soon, so maybe I can post my newbie impressions.
As far as the Brinkman goes, I went camping this weekend. Shoved it in an old mag holder so I could have it on my belt. But it activated the light :banghead: At least I found a way to keep warm, if I'm ever in survival mode  I'm going to have to find a way to carry it, it might fit in something designed for a surefire.
I only got these as the prices were so low. Couldn't justify $60 or more as I only plan on using it for the occassional "lowlight" shoot my local group puts on. My initial thought is the switch is a bit stiff. The head of the flashlight is larger than the tac light group, so it might prove a bit unwieldly  Time will tell
Anyone point me to a generic mount that might allow me to attach this to a p99? or a more standard tac rail?
