Am I a gun nut now?
Gus Dddysgrl

Am I? Instead of taking a lunch I will be going to pick up a gun that came in to the FFL my dad uses. It's a wedding present for Jon. (yes he does know about it.) This will be my 3rd gun. :)
So instead of lunch I'm buying a gun.
and
As a wedding gift for my fiancee I bought him a gun(that I too wanted.
Does this make me a gun nut?
PS the first one I bought was a Ruger SP101 the second one dad gave me it's a little 25 and this one I'm getting today is another Ruger Mark II.

Hmm. Three guns? That doesn't seem like much. Why don't you buy a few more guns and tell us how you feel about it then? ;)

You are getting there, just not quite yet......
Although a Shootin' Iron as a wedding gift does move you much closer :D
While she doesn't really care for firearms, Mrs. Foggy gave me an NRA Commemorative Ruger Mk. 2 for Valentines day...

Do you have more guns in your household than internal combustion cylinders?

In my experience,
IF ...
you have to ask the question, you probably are!

If someone asks you how many guns you own and you are not sure you can answer, not because you are paranoid but because you are having trouble adding them up in your head? Then you are a gun nut. :D

You go Lady.
I am going to pick up a gun from my FFL today for my daughter's graduation gift. (She's the one that asked for it...along with a laptop computer)
So if you think I'm a gun nut, then I guess we're in the same boat.

Not yet, you need to buy your Father a nice Old Win Hiwall in 45/70 or 45/90 for his Birthday or Christmas :D , Reproductions are ok and a shorty AR would be a nice substitute.:D
Good start Squirt, nice gun BTW
You could give me that left grip panel as a start:D

eight cylinders and only five guns
Only eight cylinders?
What about the lawn mower? The chain saw? The bass boat? The jet ski? The snowmobile? The ATV?
You've got a long way to go on both sides of the equation.

My question is, are you nuts about guns, or a nut with a gun?:D :what: :neener:

shep854-probably both.
StopTheGrays-not quite there yet, but hope to get there.
GigaBuist-hahahaha that's funny. No not that far yet, but I am a girl and do have a nice large set of forks. I have even more knives:evil: . I don't think I'll ever have more guns than forks.
Can't wait to go shoot it, but I don't have any ammo for it. The guy I bought it from had 1000 rounds to send me, but can't figure out how to send it. If any of ya can help with that that'd be nice.

Hey! I live in an apartment smack in the middle of Los Angeles! I'm grateful for the guns! Although I have been coveting the jet ski...

Let's see... two cars for the household... 10 cylinders... is a multiple of 3 mean I am a nut x 3? :D

I like the internal combustion cylinder thing...it is like comparing apples to apples.
Let me see one v10 and one v6 and one weedeater equal 17 cylinders
20 guns yep I'm doing alright but not by much I have to be careful

27 cylinders vs. 13 guns. Life is good.

2 V8's, 1 straight six, a lawnmower, and a weedeater vs. less than 20 guns. I've got to get shopping!:what:

A gun nut? Hmmmm..... [thinks about it a bit]
Nahhhhhhh..... too many of those :barf: I can barely choke out the word --- Rugers.
Now if you were getting him CZ's or Sigs or S&W's or H&K's - well - then you might be a gun nut... ;)

More guns than shoes is a good indicator. However, for women, you need to divide the number of PAIRS of shoes by THREE to make this an apples to apples comparison.
(Ducking head and taking cover for the un-P.C. "women and shoes" comment).:D
Gus -- you must have been raised right. I hope my girls turn out as savvy as you. Best of luck with the wedding!

How does 9 guns and 4 cylinders work?
Gus Dddysgrl
June 29, 2004, 05:02 PM
4 guns in my possession(one I took from daddy), and I think 11 pairs of flip-flops:uhoh: (At least that's all I can think of off the top of my head:rolleyes:). Then I have at least 2 nice black dress shoes, 2 nice white dress shoes, 3 pairs of sneakers(I think I should throw at least 2 of those away cause they are in really bad shape and not really of any use anymore, but I have to find them first), and then some....tall knee high boots, winter boots, and a pair of steel toed boots for work. I really do need to work on getting more guns. (21 pairs of shoes/3=7 guns)
Most girls go for lots of shoes, I just liek the Old Navy flip flops that only cost $3.50. That's a lot better than what most shoes cost. :neener:
Werewolf-I haven't had enough money to get some of those yet. I do like those, but I haven't gotten that far, give sometime.

Lesse...
Forks: 4 (seriously, I live alone!)
Cylinders: 4 (Go, Jetta, Go!)
Shoes: 4 pair (work dress shoes, nicer dress shoes, boots, running shoes).
Guns: 14 :uhoh:

Do you have a sister? At least a cousin that's like this?
A gun for engagement and one for a wedding present? I'd be ready to settle down.

RED-DOG 40-yeah I've said that.
Croyance-I have 2 sisters, one doesn't like guns, one is still a little brat and hasn't fully been introduced to shooting, but what she's done she enjoyed. I do love them both and they are great, but not yet gun nuts. My cousins are really girlie girls who would freak if I told them I had a gun.
Sorry.

6 cylinders and 4 guns..but I can count the kids, too, right? So..7 or 8, if we count the BB gun.
ETA: I forgot one. I have 5 guns. I forgot the .22 Marlin that I've sort of half-given to the youngest and will officially hand over as soon as he learns a tad more self-control.. so, 8, plus the BB gun. And I only own a push mower.
Since I was printing and mailing gun-related legislative surveys at 4:30 this morning, and I'm doing it again now, I could probably ditch all the guns and still be a nut. :(

Let's see....
cylinders: 12 (Ford Ranger and BMW 325ci)
forks: 22
guns: hmmm, not quite sure anymore, but I think it's a bit more than 2 dozen
Gus, you're not a nut yet. Giving up a meal for a gun is child's play. Now, if you say you gave up a kidney for a new gun, well, that's definitely gun-nut material.
