Any other 7mm-08 fans out there? Most of my reloading has been with 140gr bullets and varget powder, very accurate and good speed. I reloaded a couple 150gr's with a max load of varget but only got 2640fps (22in barrel). Has anyone else worked up any good loads for the heavier bullets. I like to try some 160gr bullets too. Thanks for the help!

try some rl-19 w/ 160's. should get you into the 2650-2700 f/s range. if that isn't enough, you'll just have to move up to a bigger caliber. the 7-08 seems to be at its best at under 150 grain bullets.
also, varget is pretty good in the 308, but like the 308, varget doesn't produce top velocity. rl-19 w/ 150's should get you around 2900 f/s.
good luck. be safe, and don't lean on the cartridge too hard chasing velocities....

Wife has a midget's Ruger in 7mm-08, but she shoots 130 gr Sierra HPBT molycoated bullets with 2230-C ($60/8pds and clean).

I use Hornaday 154gr. bullets with H380 and get about 2550
fps. I'm running about 3/4" groups at 100 yds. out of a Browning
A-bolt (22" barrel ) Haven't found a need for anything faster.
Tried heavier bullets but couldn't get any speed or accuracy. I
think most 7-08mm or twisted for the lighter bullets.
