organized harrassment of SUV owners

If you own a large SUV, you need to be aware that there are some enviro-wackos out there targeting your vehicle for an unwanted bumper sticker. Check out www.idontcareaboutair.com/bumpers/ for more details about what these POS are up to. On the site they claim it's their "First Amendment right" to put unwanted stickers on YOUR property. They claim the stickers are easy to get off. Not true. I've seen them. They're those paper ones that stick like hell and require a scraper to get off. These stickers are just starting to circulate among the enviro-nuts. Their goal is to vandalize your property that you worked hard to pay for. Maybe if everyone preemptively emailed them and let them know that their website will be given to the police if a sticker damages the paint of tagged vehicles, they might think twice about continuing this harrassment. These are the same kind of nuts that throw paint on women wearing fur coats.

If I see anyone trying that crap on my car, they will wish they hadn't.

Sent an email. I told them to, and i paraphrase, "back off if you want to keep your teeth!".

If they think they can get away with this BS, they'll only escalate the behavior. They'll START with stickers and if they get away with that, then they'll be throwing paint on SUVs. Next will be broken windows. Slashed tires. And so on. That's how these wimps operate.

I ought to get one of those stickers for my old S10 that is just beginning to burn a little oil! Probably upset them if a bunch of people asked for them "because I really DON'T care!":neener:

I've heard of them a couple years ago from TV. Nobody's stopped them yet.

If the watermelons care so much about the air, why don't they bathe and brush their teeth? As well, so much hair is insensitive to my eyes, not to mention the guys.
Anywho if they will buy me another car, I'll stop driving my SUV (I'll need it tomorrow!).
Why don't the watermelons, go get engineering degrees and design a car that runs on pollution? Why do they all have degrees in journalism or folklore?

That's easy, journalism or folklore degrees don't require the ablity for critical thought processing :D
You know, people like this make me want to go out and buy an SUV, if for no other reason than to irratate them.

Beware at the coffee bar and the ski resort.
Thank god they don't have the brains to target pickup trucks. It is all the fault of the SUV. If they put one on my truck I hope they put it on straight, so I can leave it there.

I drive a Jeep, so I don't meet the "8 cylinder" requirement. But they have a message board, maybe I'll drop 'em a nice note.

I posted the following on their boards.
"These "taggers" remind me of the PETA folks, who splash a woman with red housepaint for wearing a fur coat. You'd never see those punks splashing a group of Hell's Angels for wearing leather, would you?
This whole movement strikes me as sneaky, intrusive, and spineless. I challenge you instead to walk up to a construction worksite at lunchtime, and start a debate with the assembled SUV owners present.
Stand up for what you belive in, but have the guts to show your face."

As I have a camper shell on my Classic '93 Ford F-150, one of these Susie Sarandon Groupies could mistake it for an SUV;
Should I catch any Blissninneys touching my 10 year old gas-guzzler, they'll be drinking the red paint I saved to throw on Madonna's fur coat.:barf:

Because said punks would be dead rather quick...or have all the bones in their hand broken, a la the motorcycle wheel hand scene in the movie Stone Cold.

On the site they claim it's their "First Amendment right" to put unwanted stickers on YOUR property.
If I had hacker skills, that would make me want to break into their site and exercise my "First Amendment right" to change all their messages to pro SUV. Hey, if it's a right to place messages on someone else's property...

Well, it seems they are down...perhaps someone got to it before I did ;-).
OTOH: Their ftp server is still running, and surprise surprise..doesn't look like they've applied the latest patches... uh oh..could it be vulnerable? perhaps I should test it for them tonight, when I'm home and behind a real computer (Linux ;-).

Yes they still have their "First admendment right", but they need to remember that I still have my "Second Admendment Right" to protect my property.

My beef with SUV's is that there are altogether too many people who have 'em yet don' t have the driving skills to pilot a tricycle.....

Another use for WD40:
To get stickers off of surfaces: remove what you can, and spray some WD40 onto the rest of the area. Rub in and leave for a few minutes. The rest of the adhesive sticker should roll right off with yiur thumbnail. I've done this plenty of times and it works.
Years ago dad caught some guy sticking a bumper sticker onto the nice chrome on his '71 XJ6. Dad had stayed a night at a hotel and a hotel employee was sticking on an "advertisement" for their establishment. Tacky, tacky. Dad made him remove it. He complied.

Whut Calamity Jane said. But if it were up to me, 'bout half the people on the road wouldn't be, regardless of their choice of vehicle.

So the people in little cars who dart back and forth between lanes and make jackrabbit starts and stops are safer drivers than me plodding along in my tank ....?
And when it gets slick, what do you see backwards and upside down in the ditches - an bunch of little front wheel drive cars.
Yeah, if I had to commute every day, I would get something smaller and cheaper to run. But when I drive a hundred miles to go shopping, I need something big enough to bring some stuff back with me.

Calamity Jane:
You are exactly right! People need to learn how to drive.
