Hi all...While I was cleaning my newly arrived PMA-S after picking it up from my FFL, I was able to get everything striped down and cleaned except I could not remove the barrel from the slide. It looks like the DW match barrel has a sloght shoulder on it that will not go through the muzzle no matter what I did. The first step to stripping it was to use the barrel bushing wrench to turn the bushing clockwise and carefully release the tension on the one piece guidrod spring. So far all is well...pulled the rod and spring out through the breech no problem. Next came removing the barrel from the slide. Turn slide upside down, rotate barrel link to forward postion per note that states barrel can't be removed unless pointing forward. This is where things ground to a halt....no go no matter what I tried I was unable to slide the barrel out. I tried moving the barrel bushing back to normal then, counter clock wise and back clockwise...It had no effect at all. I ended up cleaning the underside of the slide and the outside of the barrel as best I could but that just doesn't sit right with me....I tried for over and hour just tryieng to get the barrel removed...no luck. Though the gun was very clean, parts were kind of sticky...HELP!!!! mack...

Wait a second. IF I read that correctly, you've still got the bushing in the slide. YOu need to remove -it- before you can remove the barrel. You turn it the opposite direction from the direction you turned it to remove the plug, then pull it straight out.

What Kalos said. You can't remove the barrel with the barrel bushing in place.

You turn it the opposite direction from the direction you turned it to remove the plug, then pull it
