I think I just bought in bulk

Hey, Hey,
A buddy and I just put in a shell order today for a combined total of 32 cases. Thats 8000 rounds of 12 gauge or almost 1000 pounds (crude mental calculations not gaurentied to be accurate) of shotgun shells. Me thinks we should be supplied for "a little while" Anyway Win super x heavy uplands 1 1/8 once for 28.75 a case is just too cheap to sit behind my single stage mec. Just thought I would share my happy shopping experience.

Happiness is a full ammo cache.
Unhappiness (perhaps-according to wife of a friend) when 20k hulls in 12 ga alone are taking up storage space...after hissy fit...best not to tell abou the other 3 gauges, powder, wads, primers...well 50 K don't take take up much room...do they ? Plus with my stash...his additions not noticed...

Yup, bulk all right...
At $2.87 a box, that's about what it costs me to reload....
Save your hulls, you're saving enough money that a MEC 9000G is feasible....

OK- so I'll ask. Where did you find this deal and can everybody get it? Is the clock ticking on it?

And where do you plan to store the pallet all this ammo is going to arrive on? The truck freight guy wont help you get it off the truck, you gotta be there to do that. :uhoh:

Well freight isn't going to be a prob as it isn't going to my house. Of course I will have to go pick it up so I will end up having to move it. Sorry, I would love to help you all out but I can't. I am on the Iowa State University Trap and Skeet team so we can get discounted shells up to 16 cases per person per order. In all honesty I'm only keeping 4-6 cases for myself, the rest will be given to friends/family. We used to be able to get guns at very nice discounts but unfortunatly that ended before I showed up on the scene.

Wasn't there an "Arsenal" bill that would have banned possession of over 1000 rounds of ammunition? Something like that at least.

Hey Matt:
8,000 shotgun shells? For a dedicated clay shooter that's known as a good start.
Tell us about your Trap and Skeet team. What do you shoot, type of gun, loads, International or American style? How many on your team, how's the support from the school and attitudes towards firearms? Thanks,
Paul

PJR,
IA state trap and skeet is school funded though GSB. We have fairly good support, both from the college and fellow students. I am a club (we are officially known as a club) rep to the sports club council. We actually shoot more than just trap/skeet, we can compete in almost any of the clay games. Anybody can join, anybody can compete. We travel to surrounding states and to national and international shoots. I personally don't complete as as by the time you add shells, entry fees, transportation, food, and lodging the bill gets pretty steep. My shooting habits are self supported so I am satisfied just shooting for fun with the team once and awhile on thursday nights. I was shooting a Citori but sold it because I like to shoot one gun for everything and it didn't work well for my crow hunting addiction. Right now I am shootin my Nova. I know I drop a few birds as it is not a dedicated target gun but I not out to break any records. I am probably going to spend some time behind a X2 or a 391 if I want to get a bit more competive in the near future

M Jager, don't sell the Nova,or other decent quality pump gun short. The small advantage the gas auto offers will be crucial only at the top levels of competition. Until then, use the gun ya got, have fun, and show some gun snobs just how #$%^&*(ing wrong they are....

Matt:
Thanks for the report. It's good to know that shooting sports are being supported in institutions of higher learning. Don't sweat the lack of a target gun. There are lots of guys running them straight with pump guns.
