Anybody know anything about these? I recently (for lack of a better term) inherited one.

It is in mint condition, with some nice scrollwork on the receiver. long (28"?) vent-rib barrel, unsure of the choke setting.

Are these good guns? I'd heard that S&W sold shotguns for a time, but never really heard if they were any good.

A friend of mine is interested in buying it - what is a fair price for one of these in LNIB (say 98%) condition?

Brain Fade
Is this the semi auto?
If this is the semi auto it was a good gun, pretty wood that had the bolt release button on the left side .
The Win SX1 has the bolt release on right side.
The 1100 was kicking butt on sales .

Though the S&W was a good gun in its own right, it was not the quality of the SX1 which is "machined" from good steel.

The stamped 1100 was mechanically better-than the S&W even tho' stamped...

The folks I know that have these - still shoot them. I have no idea on value.

If this is the pump...it could not hold up near as well as the 870. Sucks to get brain fade.

I was being lazy :)

Today started off too early and with too many things in the negative.

I've had one for 25 years and it's a dang nice shooting shotgun. I bought it new when I was 12 with my paper route money and used it for many years as my main field and clays gun.....it never let me down.

They never seemed to catch on tho. I think S&W discontinued the line a good 10 - 15 years ago. I see them around on the used market occasionally, between $200 - $300 depending on condition.

It's a nice, soft shooting gas auto that's great for clays or all varieties of upland shotgunning.

I like mine!!:)

A buddy got one in a trade. It looked like it had been towed behind a truck, so he got out the spray paint and camo'd it. It worked just fine for the couple of years he had it and then someone offered him a couple hundred bucks for it.
