This just happened to me during my lunch break....
I go into Palmetto firearms looking for a Kel-Tec P-3AT. I called yesterday, they told me they had one for $261.

Sales Clerk: Can I help you?

Me: Looking for the Kel-Tek .380

SC: We 'aint got none, and good luck finding one.

Me: Really? I called yesterday and they had one in stock for $261

SC: Don't know who told you that, we 'aint had one in weeks. Let me go check though.

Comes back out from the office area.
SC: Nope, aint got one. Good luck finding one though, like I said, we haven't had one in weeks.

About then and older gentleman comes around the corner and shuffles thru some paperwork.
" Well here's what happened to it, it came in yesterday and was sold yesterday"

So much for "We aint got none, and haven't had any in weeks"!

Me: Funny gun shops cannot get them, but they're everywhere at gunshows.

SC: That's because gunshow dealers are gouging the buyers. Their suppliers are giving them first choice since they sell them higher and keep the prices up.

Me: Really, then how come I can buy the 3AT at a gunshow for $245, and you are asking $261?

SC: Well, you don't want one anyway. I had one that had to go back to the factory 4 times.

Me: Really? Usually they will offer you a replacement gun if it has that many problems.

SC:Didn't want to mess with it anymore. I just sold it off to someone else.

So I'm thinking, this clown was offered a new gun by the mfgr, he turned that down to sell a bum gun to an unsuspecting customer? Exit stage left, QUICKLY!

Same guy told me the same thing. and Shooter's choice wasn't much better. They were quoted as they refuse to carry it because it wasn't "IF it would fail but WHEN."
Dontcha just love know-it-alls?
