I have a chance to buy a virtually NIB Mossberg 590. IIRC, it has a 20" barrel, parkerized, 8-shot factory-installed magazine, synthetic forearm and stock, Ghost Ring sights, and some sort of shell holder in both sides of the stock. Also has a bayonet lug (as if I am going to mount a bayonet and charge - will probably try to take this off). Cost will probably be 4 and some change. is this a good deal?

Not a bad deal with the Ghost Rings. All the 20" have the 8 shot tube and the bayo lug is a permanent fixture. If you've got a bayo around for your AR it does look kind of cool when the thing is camped in the safe or in the corner. :D

After I posted my message I did a search and found a previous thread which had a link to the Mossberg webpage. This appears to be a standard package that Mossberg offers.

One of the problems with living in the People's Commonwealth is that you cannot plan on choosing a firearm to buy by researching, choosing, and ordering a specific model. You often have to get what shows up when it shows up. Makes for a lot of spur of the moment buys.

Sounds like a 590-A1. Mine didn't come with the speedfeed stock, I added that after I got it along with a Surefire forend, sidesaddle and Giles Sling with quick disconnect.

The A1 is the same as issued to the Military. Heavy duty barrel. Can take a LOT of rounds non stop with no problem. It's also heavy and strong enough to make one hell of a club if you run out of ammo. :D

Price is just about what I paid for mine on sale here in the PRK.

I recently went to my FFL for a quote on a Mossberg 590, 20", parkerized, ghost rings, 8 rd mag, bayo lug but without speedfeed stock for $380.50 complete but before sales tax. Normally he gives good pricing so I think your deal sounds good to me (especially since you did get the speedfeed stock).
