Oh wait a minute....No it wasn't.

They did say that on Sept 11th and I haven't heard a word about who started that. Who ever said that on the news networks should have been shot. I heard the specific repor that "a truck bomb" just exploded outside the State Deparment." Who saw it?

2)There is someone with a nuclear weapon driving to New York city.

Oh, no there wasn't. "A detainee lied."

3)Better get your duct tape and bio suit on because someone is planning an attack this week.

Oh, they failed a lie detector test??? Why didn't they give him the test BEFORE they issued the warning?? "Another detainee lied."

Can someone tell me that we AREN'T our worst enemy??

If I was Al-Qaeda, I'd call up the news media and inform them that Anthrax was released in Philadelphia just so everyone kills each other trying to flee the city. Maybe even some of the people with guns will start killing all the people trying to flee.

Then the news media will confirm that Anthrax WAS NOT released in Phildelphia.

I seriously think we are going to have a repeat of the famous "War of the Worlds" incedent soon.

THE MARTIANS ARE INVADING NEW JERSEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone knows we "probable" will be attacked again. We know that. A broad issue of "warning" and a "reminder" to be vigilant is all we need to hear. Who would be suprised if a terrorist used WMD? Who would be shocked?? Nobody.

I had to vent.........sorry...............:cuss:

Sometimes I wonder if a lot of our govt agencies and officials haven't been "bombed" ....?

All depends on what your meaning of "bombed" is. :D

Alas, so sad but true.....must go now to buy my duct tape and a roll of 6mil poly, and a case of water. In case I get bombed by terrorists and my aqaurium cracks, I will fashion a holding tank out of the plastic, seal it with the duct tap, fill it up with the Evian, so my pirhana is safe........wouldn't want for him to die.

Feb. 13 — A key piece of the information leading to recent terror alerts was fabricated, according to two senior law enforcement officials in Washington and New York.

And we have Ground-to-Air missiles all around Washington and New York because of it. I saw four F16s fly over my house, in formation...because of it. The civilian population was told to go out and get duct tape and plastic... because of it.

Maybe some of you that don't live near a major city aren't too worried about it. Every major city in this country could implode and turn into a war zone just by something "said" on TV. Maybe if they announce Ronald Reagan was killed it will help the stock market. Oh, they already tried that back in the 80's.

This isn't "better safe than sorry." This IS Terrorism.

I've heard so many people talk about their little kids having nightmares over all the stuff our own media is saying. None of it is true.

i was on K street about a half an hour after the Pentagon was hit

from my car radio i heard of:

1) detonated State department car bomb
2) detonated Treasury deparment car bomb
3) detonated Capitol Hill car bomb
4) The monument mall was on fire
5) a hijacked State Police traffic plane
was heading north on radar towards DC

i never heard what happened to the plane

I hope thats about a close to "SHTF" as i get

No police force in DC was deployed to direct traffic
so about 15 minutes after my exit north bound on 16th street,
THE ENTIRE OFFICE BLOCK SECTION OF NW DC GRID LOCKED

if this had been an actual emergency...

Orson Welles redux.

Think it may have the benefit of teaching the media a little responsibility?

Fox News just reported that there is a "very, very, small fire in a New York train or subway station." "We don't know if its a terrorist attack but its a very, very, small fire."

I'm glad they are stressing that its a very, very, small fire.

And not saying..

"THERE IS A FIRE IN THE NEW YORK SUBWAY STATION!!!"

I'm going to watch every news channel and see how they report this.

The State of the Nation:

http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/nat-gen/2003/feb/14/021402669.html

Windows rattled, homes shook, and residents poured into the streets downtown. Local law agencies said they received about 100 phone calls.

though the country is on alert for terrorist activity and potentially on the brink of war, residents shouldn't have been frightened.

Yeah right.

As a military plane swooped over an Illinois town, frightened residents called police, but a relative said later that the pilot just wanted to impress his grandmother.
:scrutiny:

"If anything, it should make them feel good that military pilots are out and about," Sieben said.

I think you just proved yourself WRONG buddy....

Witnesses said Maj. Whitney Sieben made at least four low passes and performed loops and barrel rolls Thursday over Genesco, a town of 6,400 in western Illinois.

Sieben said he had permission from air traffic control to deviate from his flight plan. He said he was flying about 350 mph and never dropped below 2,000 feet.
Sure, he never went below 2,000 feet....

Traffic pattern altitude is 1,000 feet AGL, and at 2,000', people don't even notice the airplane.

Remarkably bad judgment by the major and his politician uncle.

Oh, this refers to SodaPop's "State of the Nation" post above.

Wait until the National Guard shows up at your door and FEMA sets up a nice relocation camp because a "rumor" is going around that someone came down with a dose of the small pox.

Its all in the works according to our homeland insecurity department.

Unfortunately that won't help in the real world.

This is your government preparing for terrorism.

http://www.fema.gov/nwz03/orange_update.shtm

Place the FEMA COOP Emergency Relocation Group on ALERT if the threat is nonspecific.
Consider ACTIVATING the FEMA COOP Emergency Relocation Group if the threat is specific to the National Capital Region or area region.
Place the Department and Agency COOP Emergency Relocation Group on ALERT if the threat is nonspecific.
Consider ACTIVATING the Department and Agency COOP Emergency Relocation Group if the threat is specific to the National Capital Region or area region.
Send ADVISORY to all Urban Search and Rescue Task Forces.
Reaffirm communications lines with federal computer incident handling and response centers.

You guys all better read that story. Compare the logic of that to what our homeland security is saying.

I'll put my tin foil hat on Jmbg29:D

"When a problem arises with high uncertainty, there is an opportunity to spin the problem to avoid global panic. If you can't do anything about a warning, then there is no point in issuing a warning at all," Dr Sommer told the association yesterday.

"Overreaction not just by the public but by policy-makers scurrying around before the thing actually hits because we can't do anything about it anyway ... to a large extent you are better off not adding to your social costs," said Dr Sommer, who is also an adviser on terrorism.

I think the guy better speak a little louder.

The fact is that the gummint fruitcakes can do whatever they want. It all boils down to this: I have guns and military grade knowledge of their use and tactical application. So do 90% of my friends. I have always counted only on me and mine. And while past performance is no guarantee of future performance, I will continue to put my faith in me and mine.

To do otherwise would be to spit in God's eye. After all, he gave them to me and charged me with their prosperity and safekeeping. Gummint flunkys be damned.

P.S. Remember, shiny side in and out.;) :p :D

I have always counted only on me and mine.

And you've just distinquished yourself from the vast majoriy of society. How many peole in our society would panic if the water got shut off?

People in Afghanistan panic when Americans start bombing them.

People in America panic when they hear the "word" bomb.

To do otherwise would be to spit in God's

Don't even start with the God stuff. That word "GOD"kills more liberals than....
