The local Wal-Marts carry a Beretta semiauto that's usually priced around $550 or so. Black synthetic furniture and what looks to be a 26" barrel (I'm guessing). I'm not that familiar with Beretta shotguns. Does anyone know what model this is (I'm assuming they offer it nationwide), and is $550 a decent price?

It's probably the 3901, not generally marketed except by Walmart.

The 3901 has some features like the 390, IIRC, and some like the 391. A matte finish, synthetic stock/forearm, 3" chamber.

Both the 390 and 391 are excellent shotguns. My guess is this is too.

I have one from Walmart. It is a 390. I got it about 3 or 4 years ago when you could still get guns at Walmart in CA. It has new let me down. I have put about 1000 rounds through it, most of it being light loads from Walmart but I have also ran slugs, heavy 2.75 and some 3 and never a problem.

Mine is a 12 and I use it for informal clays and Upland hunting. It was a gift (would never send that much on a gun for myself I am to cheap) from my best friend.

It is not the lightest gun you can find but it is soft on the shoulder. I have been carrying my Moss 500 in 20 out in the field lately because of the weight.

If you want an auto and you are willing to part with the cash I don't think you can get more bang for you buck (Unless you can fine one used, problem is that people don't let them go. You can't have mine :)

Good luck

Tom
