Last night I watched Bad Boys and at the end of the movie the bad guy pulls out a gun that looks like it has four barrels. :what: Is that real or just Hollywood? If it is real then what is it?
I am sure someone here knows what I am talking about.

Thanks,
Josh

walking arsenal is right. It's a COP .357. They don't make them anymore.

If you haven't already, go watch Bad Boys II! :D

Monica Belluci had one in The Matrix Reloaded as well.

I can honestly say that this is the only firearm I purchased because of a movie.

When I first say the COP in Bladerunner (http://props.steinschneider.com/cop_357/cop_357.htm) back in the early 80's I thought it was just another prop gun, until I found out it was an actual firearm.

Well then.

Had to have one. Took almost 20 years but I finally found a COP in pristine shape.

Monica Belluci in a rubber dress with one was just icing on the cake.

I used to have one. It was a little heavy though. I sold it to buy something else, but wish I hadn't. I might get another one, probably the Beretta one though.

Yeah, come on Wondernine. I haven't heard of a four barrel made my Beretta either. Give us some pics or something.:)

Do all four rounds fire at once on the COP? :what:

Do all four rounds fire at once on the COP?

Nope, though some people will disagree with me. :D

Yeah, come on Wondernine. I haven't heard of a four barrel made my Beretta either. Give us some pics or something.

Ask and ye shall receive. :)

Cool!
Are those available in the USA? I've never seen one before.

I believe I saw one on Guns America one time. I also believe they were only produced for a short time which would explain their scarcity. It would be a cool CCW piece, but the collector and novelty value would keep me from doing much more than maybe shooting it once in a great while.

I pegged the piece when I first saw Bladerunner in the theater. It uses a round striker that rotates (clockwise?) to sequentially fire each barrel. The test I'd read indicated that all four barrels struck within something like 4-5 inches of each other at 25 yards, IIRC... Recoil was supposed to be quite heavy, but perhaps the lighter-weight J-frame .357s now outperform it in that area?? :scrutiny: What's the weight comparison? :scrutiny:

I'm interested in them too because they are thinner than a J-frame. But $400+ for a side-by-side derringer is a bit much for me. They should be priced like Kel-Tecs. But that's just me...

They're a much higher quality gun than the Kel-Tecs. Not even in the same league. No, nobody needs to jump in and tell me how their Kel-Tec has digested 100,000 rounds without so much as a hiccup. I know some work great.

The Cop is also nicely melted and all stainless steel construction. Highly durable. The cons are basically that the trigger is heavy and the gun is heavy. 28oz unloaded. I did carry mine in the pocket alot, but it's a little bit heavy for that. But it's a .357 pocket gun!!! :D Also the later serial numbered models seem to have a better reputation. Mine was a late serial number.

the trigger is heavy and the gun is heavy. 28oz unloaded.- WonderNine is being polite; the trigger pull on this sucker is beyond heavy, it's a workout. And since it breaks right at the frame it's not what you'd call crisp either. Extremely well made, but more of a curiosity piece than anything else.

Like I said, I bought mine because I thought it was incredibly cool after seeing it in BladeRunner- yeah yeah I know not the most sound of reasons for a firearm purchase but I had the cash so what the heck.
