I like the 124 and 127 grain bullets in 9mm. What about 147 cause the Beretta 92 has a 5inch barrel. Im not sure what to get.
There are so many makers of ammo:( Any brands that stand out? Thanks.

RBCD 9mm Tactical. Check with Blackwater Training center, ask for Gary.

Speer Gold Dots have worked well for me. IMHO, the longer barrel won't boost the 147 enough to make it an optimum SD round. My choice is 124 GDs, +P.
I've used Georgia Arms in 9mm and .45 for over ten years and have great faith in their products. Relativly inexpensive and they usually hit the local gunshows.

Winchester RangerT or Golddots in 147gr or 124/127gr.

Get whatever is less expensive and lets you practice with it more. I don't think there is much difference in 115-147 JHP rounds. That said, I use 147 because I prefer reliable penetration to reliable expansion.
GA arms 147 JHP is $8.75 per 50 allowing you to shoot it enough at the range to be sure it works.
The 4.92" barrel on your 92FS should improve any round you fire over the standard 4" test barrel.

Speer Gold Dot 124 +p.
It's an accurate ammo with good knock down. From the 5" barrel you'll be shooting around 1200-1250 FPS just 100 or so fps shy of the .357 Sig.

I would load in any 9mm. Winchester USA personal protection 147 gr. white box. Sold at Wal*Mart for $10.97 for a 50 rd box.

115 Gr +P CorBons. Nasty things, they are. That's what I've shot the most of in my Taurus PT99 (other than FMJ of course) and never had a failure. Never had a failure of any kind at all, just the CorBons impressed me quite a bit on 'coons. Like I said, really nasty. I tend to prefer Gold Dots in my other defensive arms and would feel perfectly well armed with them in my Taurus as well.
If you're wanting to try something, Ammoman.com has several varieties of Gold Dots available as practice ammo. Still should give you a pretty good idea of what they're like and they're an awfully good price and nice nickel plated cases. $89 for 500 rounds including shipping!
Personally, I'd avoid the 147 Gr unless you're wanting lots of penetration. Good for deer hunting, bad for defense.

The best of the best is the Winchester Ranger 127gr +p+. I wouldn't shoot anything else. However I don't shoot 9mm anymore. Data that i've looked at shows that even the best 9mm round can't outperform the best .40 or .45 round through heavy cloth or glass.

I've had good luck with both the Winchester Ranger T and the Gold Dots. Pretty equal performance IMO.
