Well I was just at the Local Gunshop and fondled a NIB XD-9 SS slide. What a nice gun well it comes home with me next week after my 8 day wait. :mad: But cant wait to get it does anyone have one and how do they like it??

I don't have one, but everything I've heard and read seems very positive. Plus, you have Springfield's lifetime warranty.

The serious upside to the 9mm is that you can load a .40 magazine with 9mm rounds and have a hicap mag for your 9mm pistol. That's why I'm looking into the purchase of one.

You definitely didn't make a bad purchase.

I own the .40 and have handled the nine. It shoots POA and has been completly reliable in the first 1,000 rounds I have put though it. Good luck and I hope you like your XD.

I put 250 rounds through mine at the range just this afternoon. It performed flawlessly as always. It was my first pistol, and still my favorite.

I think you will really like to shoot it. I've had my XD9 since November and have put 1000 rounds of various rounds ...FMJ, including reloads, +P JHP's, expanding FMJ, and the only hiccup has been a FTE with some snake shot I tried for kicks that wasn't loaded hot enough to run the action. It's a great pistol, well designed and well built. It's also very easy to break down and clean. I think it is capable of filling many needs. I can put 13 or 14 rounds in my extra XD40 mags. ...that last one's a bear ...although I usually just load 10 in my 9mm mags. It was the perfect gun for me to really enjoy shooting with.

As far as safety goes, this whole thing with the SA-DA debate is nuts. As far as your trigger finger is concerned, shooting the SA XD is the same as shooting the DA Glock ...only much safer because of the grip safety. Enjoy your XD! :D

went to a gun show today, bought an brand-new xd-9 for $399 (!). had to take it to the range this afternoon to try it. (!!) it shoots dead center point-of-aim with 115 grain ammo (!!!). between my wife and I we shot close to 50 rounds. had some flyers (blame it on our excitement to see the holes in center target), but most of the shots were into 2-inch groups at 15 yds (!!!!). would have kept shooting but the range closed. she loves it, i love it. i'm having a hard time not using more exclamation points (!!!!!). AND I WANT TO WRITE ALL THIS IN CAPS!!!!!!

XD-9's are outstanding.

It's the one that I shoot most accurately from my collection, feeds everything I put in it. Easy to breakdown and reassemble. Mags are cheap.

Only beef I have is that the slide finish is not the best but yours in stainless solves that problem.

I have had an XD9 for many months now and have been very pleased with it. Carrys and shoots very well. My XD40 mags for it came yesterday, need to get to the range to try them out..

I just got one the other day, local shop, $400 out the door. We've been having a monsoon here, though, so I haven't had the chance to take her out back and see what she'll do... sure am anxious, though. Maybe next week, if Typhoon Mary gets the heck outta Dodge...

Simply a wonderful semi-auto! I'd owned and shot guns for years, but didn't fall in love with shooting until I got an XD 9. Now I have two 9s and a 40S&W (which is my daily carry weapon). I'm sure I would bore you extolling all its virtues, so I will just say it is a dependable, accurate-shooting side arm, designed for a high degree of safety. The grip safety gives me a great deal of confidence when carrying with a round in the chamber, and the grip design fits most hands very well.

I take "newbies" (of both sexes) and seasoned shooters to the local range pretty often, and no matter how many of my pistols I let them try, the XDs are invariably their favorites. You made a great choice!

I've had a HS2000 for a couple of years now and never had a problem. Very accurate and enjoyable to shoot.

I was going to buy the Glock I had always wanted when I saw the XD in the case next to it. What sold me was not the pirce difference, but the XD felt more natural and came to an instinctive point better than the Glock, possibly due to the grip angle. Also, as my primary carry gun was a Sig, trigger feel is very important to me. Al-in-all the XD felt much better than the Glock. As for the grip safety, you don't even notice it's there. the Sig was my primary carry piece, but now I carry the XD more than 1/2 the time, probably more now that I have the 40 mags and can legally carry 15..

The grip angle is entirely different than the GLOCK. In fact, the HS/XD is actually closer in design to a SiG than a GLOCK.

The trigger is, IMHO, far superior to the GLOCK in feel, weight and break, but the reset is much longer. If you're used to the GLOCK trigger, the XD will require some retraining.

I bought one of the very first HS2000s when they first hit the shelves. I chose it over a GLOCK primarily because of the grip angle. Since I shoot mostly HP, SiG, STAR and 1911 semis, the grip angle of the HS felt far more natural than the GLOCK.

Give one a try. It's a world class pistol that is still grossly underpriced.
