Bought a HD Express and am pleased, but......is there an aftermarket spray-on metal coating that I can apply to give a smoother metal finish which won't collect dirt and moisture as much as the factory finish? Am only interested in the exterior finish--don't want to mess with innards. Thanks.

Check out the spray and bake finishes Brownell's sell. These are some of the best gun finishes around.

They're fairly easy to apply, they're very durable and tough, and give excellent protection.

The worst part of the Express models is the innards. They have razor sharp burrs and rough machining compared to Wingmaster models and those of years past. Make sure you degrease it really well prior to painting. Mineral spirits won't work, Naptha or Isopropyl Alcohol work much better.

Thanks so much. Will look into both.
