Yes, tell us all about it. Was it your gun then upgraded, or bought new as is or what? If upgraded, what was the turnaround and customer service like.

What is the stock? Doesn't look quite Ruger.

And the price. Always with the price.

This is the second of 2 ASI mini's that I own. The first I bought and then sent to them. This one I bought directly from them new...

Pics of #1 can be seen here....http://www.perfectunion.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10303

Turn around time is 6 MONTHS..:fire: :scrutiny: :fire: :scrutiny:

Well worth the wait. Customer service is FANTASTIC..(plus I am a nag and will rip you a new one if you dont get it right after $$$ paid):fire:

What is the stock?

Choate stock..bored out for a 1 inch diameter barrel.....

And the price?

$$$ :neener: :neener: :neener:

More than I wanted to pay!!!

Why did you park it that high above the bore axis?

""Cheek weld looks high, but actually it's not!!! Very quick follow up shots with the Aimpoint)""

It looks high, but when I put my buddys M4 with the ACOG next to mine it's not really that much of a difference. I just dont have the high sights and handle that the M4 has as a point of reference. That's why it LOOKs higher than it actually is.....

Good question though...if you held it you would have a better point of view..an go "ooooohh I see":)

You see the ACOG or Aimpoint on an M4 sit on the carry handle, I just dont have that on my MINI, nor do I have the front sight.....

The ar-15 stock doesn't have any drop to it, though.

If you mounted the aimpoint directly to the weaver base instead of putting a riser on it, or put it in a scoutn mount, i think you'd get better results, since you'd have a much firmer cheek weld and the bore axis would be much closer to the scope, which would allow you to hit things at short ranges without aiming high.

Mr. Wyatt:D ,

You think like I do!!

I have thought of those things also!! Your right it does not have a stock "drop"....

In addition, the arms #22m68 ring is much better (more robust) than the one supplied by Aimpoint that adapts to the weaver rail. The Arms does not fit directly to the Weaver since its a picatanny (hence the #5 Arms adapter).

A scout rail will not fit because the heat shield on there now is specially made for a 1 inch diameter barrel.

As far as CQB, well @ 50 yrds it tears one ragged hole, so if I am closer there will not be that much of a drop....I like the way you think....

You would have to hold it to see that the cheek weld is not to bad, plus if I am a little low the Aimpoint is a parallax free....

The brass from a Mini ejects "up" vs. "Out" for an AR so your $400 sight would get dinged up pretty good...

A picatinny rail could quite easily be attached directly to the barrel, since it's got plenty of meat to spare.
