I have a friend that came across a 16 Gauge single shot by Palmetto Arms of Philadelphia. He says that he can get a good deal, but isn't sure what is a "good deal."

Anyone know anything about these? I can't find anything.

Harley's Forum might give you better input, but these are not expensive nor well made. Like many older singles, this probably has a soft iron frame, poorly hardened parts, and so on. It also may be cursed by the Demon of Short Chambers and will take only the old 2 9/16" loads.

Unless he can pick it up for $50 or so, not worth the gamble.

Palmetto was a house brand for some hardware store pre WWI, IIRC.

Thanks Dave. Sounds like it is a good one to pass on.
