Traditions E-Bolt for $99. Is this a good deal?

The Sprtsman's Guide has these. They also have the .50 for $119. Is this worth going after? I've never shot a muzzleloader before and thought this might be a good way to get started. I didn't know if I should get a rifle and then buy all of the goodies, or look for one of those CVA kits that come with everything.
Which would be the better caliber, .45 or .50?

I've not seen the e-bolt model. I have seen the least expensive Knight rifles out-shoot custom ML and group 1.5" at 100 yards. Sometimes the low pressure loads, 1800 fps or less, shoot real good. High pressure cartridges where the bullet is going over 2400fps require a better barrel, more attention to detail.
Sportsmans Guide has a "satisfaction warranty" as long as you have your reciept.
Whether you get a inline or a traditional muzzleloader I'd get the 50cal.

I don't care for Traditions. QC is spotty to be kind. 50 would be a good choice. Wal-Mart has plenty of 50 supplies.

Some of the newer Traditions bolt guns are becoming dubiously known for going off when the bolt is closed or the safety flicked off. Not something I look for in a rifle.
.50 cal is a better choice regardless, as .45's tend to be picky in regards to powder charges and bullet weights.

Thanks. I decided to pass it up and ordered a case of 9mm with the money. I'll save up for a better rifle.

Knight makes some very good entry level inlines (Wolverine, American Knight), and the T/C Wildcat/Black Diamonds are good too.
