The space between the ring and the slot is too great for a K98...

I don't know what the rope is or why you seem to be hiding the key points of identification, but "WAFFENFABRIK NEUHAUSEN" and the number in that position indicates it is a Swiss bayonet. It will fit any of the Swiss 1889, 1911 or 1931 rifles.
