What's the link between France, Germany and Russia? Besides lining up against liberating Iraq, All have invaded their neighbors in the past 150 years or so.

Funny how they're trying to tell the US what to do in the name of "peace".

France, Russia, and China all have oil interests in Iraq. Germany?

Since the cold war ended, the USA has dominated the planet like no other country in the history of mankind. We seek hegemony over all the vital resources, but especially oil. It is the dark life blood of our economy, and we need that Iraqi oil.

France, Russia, China, Germany, and Japan are all fearful of American dominance, and jealous as well. In a way, I don't blame them, but there are worse, far worse things in the world than Pax Americana. Far worse.

France has a potential fiscal loss with losing or having to share the oil wealth with US and Britain. Besides, the only time France is pro-British, is when the French need a BEF to defend their country from the Germans.

For Russia it's also a fiscal hit, alhough I think Bush and Putin get along and I think Russia is covered, unless the French are promising the Russians something more behind the scenes. China, just to be a pain to the US. Germany? No financial gain I'm aware of. More anti-US politics by the scum running the country now. But that will change, soon, but not soon enough.

I suspect Germany will move more to the U.S. side. Germany. unlike France is supporting U.S. efforts in Afghanistan and around the Horn of Africa. Plus domestically Germany is already provding for security to U.S. bases as well as other low key support. There is a 'major' fight within the German govt. between the parties in power and parties out of power, in supproting the U.S. / NATO requests.

France, on the surface seems a bit more clear cut in not providing any support, anywhere.

France has been making a fortune rebuilding Iraq and providing technical assistance. Don't forget it was France that built the nuclear reactor that Israel bombed in 1980 or so. French companies control about 1/3 of Iraq's oil feilds, so they don't want to disrurpt oil supply or income from that.

Germany also has made money in rebuilding Iraq, but most of it has been in selling arms to them. I think that the party in power there is likely to be out of power come the next major elections, which should cause some major realiagnment there.

What I don't know anything about is how little Belgium got sucked into the Axis of Weasel. Anybody got a clue there?

The U.S. is a cash cow and she keeps giving no matter what countries do to oppose her. In fact, if you war with her, she spends the most..rebuilding your country. There is money in them hills and the U.S. pays. This time, there needs to be a price that these countries pay for their opposition, but they know that we need their cooperation in the "War Against Terror".

We can subtly strike at Germany by pulling our forces down and moving many of them to an Eastern block country. France, well..we can just point out how their little country is just that.. Russia, not much we can do there. China.. China will be are number one foe. They want us out of asia and will oppose us in every way.
