What gun did the redneck use in 'Three Kings'? If I recall correctly it was an odd shaped revolver(really long cylinder w/small frame)

That'd be a Thunder 5 revolver. Chambered for the .410 shotgun shell.http://www.thunder5.com/T5a.jpg

Mostly a novelty piece. You can catch the past discussions about it by searching this site or www.thefiringline.com , but most of the buzz is pretty negative. In general, most people tend to have pretty poor opinion of .410 shotgun handguns, and the Thunder 5 platform doesn't help matters.

If I were to buy a .410 handgun, just for novelty, I'd probably go with the Bond Arms derringer (www.bondarms.com), but I'd be better off just spending the money on ammo for the guns I already have.

Fun film though. If you have the DVD with the deleted scenes, there's an outtake from the victory party in their tent, where it shows the soldier getting his revolver in the mail, hidden from Customs searches in a very creative way...

Actually the Thunder Five is a .45 Colt/.410 shotgun, you can mix the loads in the cylinder.

You know, I could swear that once upon a time I saw a version of the Thunder 5 chambered in 20 Gauge, but have not been able to verify it. By this point, I've pretty much just chalked it up to an over-active imagination. Does anyone know if they ever made a version in 20 gauge? Or am I just remembering things wrong?

Not that I know of. Those .45/.410 pistols are pretty sweet. Wouldn't be my first choice for....well anything, but they're still pretty neat.

I believe there was a .45/70 also

Ya, the 45-70s all went to California, because that gun in 410 is classed (under California law, not Fed!) as a "short barreled shotgun".

It's affectionately known as the "Chunder Five" by some. The trigger pull is *astonishingly* bad :scrutiny:.
