Anybody going to this tomorrow or on Sunday? Selling anything interesting? Looking to buy something fun? I'm still thinking about buying a FAL/some kind of combat rifle, or maybe a shotgun, but I'm not really that knowledgeable when it comes to long guns, so I hope I don't get screwed if I find something, heh.

I just got off work and don't have much cash to throw around right now. I am saving for the September show too.

I'm going on Sunday, lookin' for mags for my AR and my CZ. And who knows, I might be persuaded on pickin' up a Mosin.

I don't think I'll be going to the September show, because the damned thing is RIGHT BEFORE the end of the AWB! If they'd only pushed it one weekend--or one or two days--back... I can only imagine the plainclothes BATFE goons will be out in force trying to nail people for slapping on a flash suppressor or bayo mount one day before the end.

I'll be going both days with my friend Tony, now that I turned him into a regular shooter. Today we will be there around lunch, probably scouting prices and picking up ammo and other goodies. Then Sunday we will start buying the fun stuff. Neighbor is looking for an SAR-1, as am I, Tony is looking for an M/N, I might pick up one of those cheap double barrel SxS 12 guages, and who knows what else we might have money for.

By the way, if anyone is going--I'm getting ready to take off myself in a few--I'm about 6'6", wearing black boots, a Wilderness Instructor's Belt, a white shirt and pants, and possibly a black BDU jacket, depending on whether or not I think the zip-tie is going to make me unable to holster my 1911 securely. Pic of myself here (http://members.cox.net/treylis/images/tjz.jpg), say hi if you see me.

Ah, but there is one pushed back one weekend, down here in Tucson! It will be taking place right after the AWB expires. Hopefully, everyone there will realize that.

I just got home from the show. Not bad, but not as good as the bigger winter shows that are in the livestock areas.

A few observations:

- There is no bulk powder for sale.....at all. I was told me that powder isn't allowed inside the building. Bummer.

- I didn't see anybody with primers out on their tables, BUT if you go to the MiWall table in the center room they do have them.

- The prices on AR-15 magazines are coming down. At the last few shows USGI 30 rd mags have been $20 to $25. This time most of them were in the $15 to $20 range. I didn't buy any 'cuz last week I found a guy on arfcom selling them for $11 each. A package of 10 should be arriving next week. :neener:

- If you're buying ammo, check with the guys at J&G and MiWall first. Example: 500 rounds of "NATO 5.56 armor piercing - made in Greece" ammo for $145. Two tables down MiWall had Olympic SS-109 for $9 per 50. :uhoh: (For those who aren't 5.56 savvy, Olympic SS-109 ammo is Nato spec armor piercing.....and it's made in Greece.)

- Caveat Emptor - I found "genuine USGI 15 round magazines" for 1911 .45 acp pistols at one table. I was told they were "genuine USGI" because they had "USA" stamped on the floorplate. Only $45 each.
:scrutiny:

I wasn't shopping for guns this time, but the prices seemed to be normal gunshow level pricing at most tables........retail plus 20%. There were some good deals to be found, but you really need to know what you're looking for if you're gun shopping.
