I hear that the .45 Glock will have thicker case walls, and it will be loaded to .45 ACP +P pressures.

Glock specified the cartridge...... they beefed-up the case so it is less likely to kaBoom in the gun.
That, and there will be a lot less "iffy" brass out there that could find it's way into a Glock chamber.

Now if they really want to keep reloaded cartridges out of the G37, they could go to Berdan primers........

Hello, brass thickness in most Glocks must be heavier than standard because Glocks rarely have proper chamber support!
In a properly supported chamber any brass can be loaded to even the extreme pressures of .45 Super without worry of the now infamous Ka-Booming Glock Syndrome.
FYI, industry standards for +P .45acp only runs 21-21K, this is far less than GI 9mm.

I still think its a solution to a non-problem. Their fans would have preferred a fullsize, single stack 45 acp or 10mm or a tactical 45 acp or 10mm. At some point, they're gonna have to listen to their fans!

Why couldn't Glock give us a single stack 10mm, instead? I'm sure the market for that is substantially larger.

Only thing I can think is that Glock is VERY serious about it's LE sales which virtually built the company here. My theory is that their salesman heard a lot of "We like the Glock 22, but a lot of our officers are asking for a .45, your G-21 is just too big though."

Something to consider is that everyone thinks of this new round as competitor to the 45 ACP and coming up with comparisons, but they chambered it in a 40 S/W sized gun:scrutiny: For Glock the bulleye's not on the old 45 ACP round it's on the 40 S/W!

Initially I thought it was a DOA round but when I relaized what the target was and say they got a few big LE contracts like FBI,DEA, or NYPD (which seems is their main concern anyway) all bets are off.

PS I'm also wondering if the 40 Glocks frames handle the new round wonder about the 40 Sigs, HK's etc.. :confused:
