I'll be getting a Colt AR-15 in a few weeks, and would like some input on optical sighting options.

Here are my (approved) choices:

Aimpoint, Eo-tech, Trijicon reflex and Meprolight reflex.

All have to be co-witnessed with the iron sights (flip-up rear OK) with the optic mounted on a flat-top receiver. While the EO-tech seem popular, I was leaning toward the new, second-generation Mep sight with the triangle aiming point so I could still take precise distance shots using the tip of the triangle.

Does anyone here have the photo skills to show what any of these look like through the optic?

That would be cool.

The Aimpoint and the EOtech are both at least a generation ahead of the Relfex sights from either company.

With either Reflex sight, you will have issues with varied lighting where shooting from a dark area to a more brightly lit area is necessary and you will also have issues with the polarizing filter (which you will need to adjust in these circumstances) and subsequent shift of zero due to eye dominance.

For range use, the Reflex sights are fine; but if you are looking at similar pricing for all four, the EOtechs and Aimpoints are hands down the better sight.
