Beretta 92FS and +P+ ammo

I'd like to hear from anyone with personal experience on the subject.
The manual warns against "extended use" of +P+ ammo. I'm not planning on that anyway, but has anyone had problems with their 92 and these loads? Malfunctions due to increased slide velocity and such?
Thanks.

I have heard -- don't know how true it is -- that one some of the problems the military had with cracked slides came from using the stronger subgun ammo in their M9s. May have been just a rumor. I don't know many people who want to shoot thousands of rounds of +p+ :)

This will be sort of an indirect answer to your question...
The NATO spec ammo (essentially +p+) we shoot really tears up our M9s. Our armory sends about 1 in 3 per year back to the depot for repair or replacement due to major component failure. I don't have exact round counts to failure, but the armorers have speculated that failures may occur as early as 5k, but are probably occuring most between 10k-15k. I've posted on this before; I have no personal thing against the Beretta, but it seems that with NATO spec ammo, the M9 is a low round count weapon (20k or less in my opinion).
Having said this, I think it is safe to shoot some +p or +p+ ammo through the Beretta, but I suggest it's probably best to stick with standard spec ammo when possible.

I read somebody on Beretta forum who claimed to be in the army. They said that all the broken locking blocks were from American made M9 Berettas and there were none from Italian ones. I take that with a grain of salt as I don't know how many actual Italian Berettas the army has if any. I would imagine the pre-1995 ones though.
The NATO spec ammo is not +P+ it is actually much more like +P. I have fired thousands of rounds of Winchester Ranger 127gr. +P+, Remington Golden Saber 115 gr. +P+ and Winchester 124gr. NATO through Beretta 92's a 2002 American one and a 1994 Italian one both Inox models. Both pistols ate them like candy. Most of the rounds went through the American one, the Italian one has not seen alot of action. I have never had a failure of any type using any ammo with either one. I use Mec-Gar 15 and 17 round preban (ok I got a few LEO mags too  :) ) magazines exclusively. I have noticed no wear on the parts.

It wears them out faster. I've not heard of anyone claiming that they are unreliable or malfunction with the hotter ammo (until something finally breaks.)

Equally true of every autoloader--Glocks, SIGs, or whatever.

Never shot +P+ thru my Vertec but haven't noticed any problems with +P.

If +P is 10% extra pressure from 5% extra powder, then my handloads are +P+++++++++
And I don't have trouble with Stars, Glocks, Tokarevs, Berettas, Colts, Kel-Tecs, Husqvarna, Patriot, FN, etc.
CZ52s have very little safety margin with surplus Tokarev ammo.
Be careful with CZ52s, very weak, the load books are all wrong.

Thanks, all, for your input.
My carry load for the 92, if I decide to carry it, will be Cor-Bon 115gr +Ps. But I'd like to try some of the hotter 9mm loads, if I can find any.
This Beretta is my first 9mm. Up till now, I've been a diehard big-bore fan, in handguns. But the 92 is one sweet-shooting pistol, a keeper.

I am curious as to what type of ammunition to use in a 92FS Bereter. I purchased 9mm, 124 grain Luger Hydra Shock and Luger Full metal jackets. Are these useable with my beretta? Need advice.
Thanks.
Tom
