Legal mods for IDPA

Hello. Looking to get started in IDPA soon and want to know if either a recoil buffer or the EFK Dual Recoil spring is considered legal under the rules. I've got a .40 S&W FN Hi power. Any help is appreciated.

Synthetic buffers are ok.

B'ville told one shooter that a Recoilmaster was not allowed. The EFK is similar enough in appearance and claims about recoil reduction so that they would probably not pass it, if asked.
