(Posted in autoloaders because a revolver can't have a suppressor).

And I was so looking forward to the people claiming they had an illegal suppressor.:p

Oh, and duck. Knowing this crowd, you will soon receive the usual information about the half-dozen halfway successful efforts to silence revolvers. If you get curious in the meantime, try a search on TFL.

Seriously, I don't own one now, but they were legal for me a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. The "I can't have this normally" factor wears thin in a hurry, but it is so neat to shoot all sorts of calibers without hearing protection. It's a lot like when you reached certain ages and realized that you'd been looking forward to the wrong things.

I do not own a suppressor, but know several people who do and a licensed manufacturer who makes them. They are not illegal under Maryland or Federal law (check with your state or local law, though).

And I will be the guy who says that revolvers can be suppressed, it is just not as effective as a suppressor on an auto pistol.

I currently own 3 suppressors. One on my H&K MP5, one on my M16A1 and one on a stainless Walther PPK.

I've always been curious how long they will last.

If I'm going to spend the money to buy one + the $200 BATF tax stamp, I would hate to find out you can only fire a couple thousand rounds before the thing is toast.

Depending on their construction, a suppressor can last for just a couple of shots or last essentially forever. Here is a very good article on everything to do with suppressors.
