Mostly hung out with the Cav Crew. However I did get along well with the HK guys. They did seem somewhat mystified at the amount of privately held select fire HK weapons I own. I really think they just don't relate to the idea.
I did speak to the people at Barrett and I will be doing a .50 Barrett Rifle Group Buy.
My next Cav Arms Group Buy will be for the NEW receiver model.
DSA is going to SOON raise their prices across the board on every model. They are damn near out of parts for the Stg58 models. If you want one do it SOON or it will be gone or more expensive. I tried to work out a Group Buy but it seemed real "iffy."
I very badly need a HK GMG.

February 17, 2003, 01:19 AM
...and had a great time in Orlando!
Folks I met or re-met: Denny Hansen, The Rock, owen, Peter Pi, Will Fennell, Jeff OTMG, Rob, Rich Lucibella, Ed Halligan, Ken Onion, Spark, Jim Hammond, Schmit, Dave Sevigny, and many, many more.
Coolest handshake: Mikhail Kalashnikov.
Neatest gun: Rohrbaugh.
Runner-up: Beretta CX-4
Biggest puzzle: Glock's dumb new cartridge.
Gun I absolutely cannot live without: That new 2" PC625. That, or that new .44 Magnum made out of riboflavin...
Funniest thing: Cluster of groupies bobbing in Ichiro Nagato's wake like baby ducks.

As usual, your posts are like an adult candy store. Gotta love those clear weapons. What fun.
Unlike a "for sale" gun show full of "Don't Touch My Guns" dealers, you are encouraged to examine the stuff. We had to make the Gemtech Rep. stop handing us SMGs.
The above pic is my buddy checking out a FN P90 w/ Gemtech suppressor.
If you ask technical questions they will actually break down the guns in front of you and explain the mechanics.
Had a great time, learned a bunch of stuff, saw some cool toys.

Swung by Cavarms a coupla times looking for you (of course, I wouldn't have known you if I saw you, but I tried to loiter conspicuously while wearing my TFL shirt and Molon Labe hat).
You have any pics of you from the show?
February 17, 2003, 01:55 AM
I'm still trying to wrap my poor numbed brain around the phrase "fully automatic grenade machine gun".
February 17, 2003, 02:04 AM
Tamara, sorry most of my pics are of toys, I know what I look like.
I musta missed seeing you, I hope I'd still notice a 6 ft. blond in a Molon Labe hat among the toys. There were girls at the show weren't there?
Anyway we were checking in with the Cav Arms guys all day long. Shoulda left a message, they are actually nice guys (except Russell :D) and they don't bite (again except Russell :D).
Oh well hopefully Shot Will be back at Orlando again soon and we can hook up for sure. If your brave enough you can even crew up with us next time when we hit the town after the show. We'll strive to be less embarrassing next time.

I just saved this entire thread to my hard drive with the file name "Shopping list for when I rule a Banana Republic".

Oh, wise and noble Emperor Kharn.:D
Thanks for the advance pics, Steyr. My spies are due back soon! Hope you had a great time and was not all business.

Being a CA resident, pictures like those are like looking at cartoons. Look real, but might as well not be :(
Thanks for sharing tho! :D

10-ring...join meeeee! Doesn't your workplace have partners in AZ?
February 17, 2003, 02:24 PM
its probably a good thing i dont go to things like the SHOT show. i'd need a drool bucket fixed under my chin and someone would have to have me on one of those leashes they attach kids to, or i'd be running from booth to booth until i passed out from overexcitement.
great pics. one question, not really related to what the pics are of...why are all the paths to your pics hundreds of characters long?
February 17, 2003, 04:39 PM
spiff, cause MSN photos sucks.
February 17, 2003, 06:12 PM
